Dang, that's a real serious issue. Tha js for making this video. I'm actually shopping for a c7 now and I will keep about from the early year C7's.

Im hoping GM recalls this. Im keeping my receipt. Just had to have it replaced.

There is a service bulletin on it. Might want to consult your local GM Representative.

Is this issue more prevalent on modified cars than stock unmodded?
@DeepStageTuningAndPerformance2 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, after speaking with a friend of mine that was a Corvette Tech, said it was more prevalent than people think. GM has a service bulletin about the issue so apparently happens frequently enough.

Should my 2014 get inspected will GM cover any of the cost? I have an extended GM warranty. My Z51 A6 has 10,000 miles I want to save the motor. Dennis

It's always a good idea to get it inspected. I'd probably do it at your next service.

Hey Tim I have a 2008 corvette auto transmission I had the same issue I had my engine installed I got the car back less than an hour I was driving down the road engine oil temperature was at 300 degrees and oil pressure dropped to 8psi thrust ended up getting pushed I have aluminum couplers on but the next thing I’m changing is the flex plate and putting the original rubber couplers back any other things I should check or get changed out?
@DeepStageTuningAndPerformance Жыл бұрын
In all honesty, there's no need to put the rubber couplers back in. The biggest thing is when you reinstall the flex plate, tighten it down, Start the motor, let it idle for a few, loosen the flex plate shaft and test the crank movement, Make sure it isn't thrust forward. There is a procedure you can look up on Google on how to adjust the crank thrust to make sure you aren't putting pressure on the back of the crank.

So 2016 was the last year of C7 having faulty flex plate from the factory ? Great video very informative !!!
@DeepStageTuningAndPerformance2 жыл бұрын
In 2017 they redesigned it. Not to say that none were carried over from the 2016.

Rock auto has a replacement, but the center rivets have been replaces with bolts/machine screws(?). Does that sound right? Is that a fix for the rivets shifting?
@DeepStageTuningAndPerformance2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's the upgraded version for the Z06 they went fully bolt together versus rivets.

Is you drive shaft the right lenght. Wen I got mine it was too long. Good thing to make sure..

Yes we compared it to the factory one when it arrived. Measured within a millimeter.

@@DeepStageTuningAndPerformance ok thanks Mine was slipping during tuning but after I got rid of it I feel like it was in the tuning causing it to slip.
@DeepStageTuningAndPerformance2 жыл бұрын
@@James-Orr 2016's had issues with allowing the converter to lock, until recently. They uncovered a new table to help with the pressures. I couldn't get mine to lock unless I forced it and gears seemed to slip otherwise.

I have a rattle but in a c6 can’t figure it out never seen a c6 have this issue

On the C6 I'd almost be willing to bet that your torque tube couplers are shredding.

@@DeepStageTuningAndPerformance bought a brand new torque tube form dealership, swap the driveshaft to a solid from DSS & still has a rattle, it might be the flex plate? Is there any after markets with billet hub

Correct. Manuals don't need this as they don't have a drive plate.

Technically it is a driveplate on the automatics. Flywheel on a stick car.
