C8 Corvette winter drive

An unexpected winter pause in Western New York allowed a welcomed ride in my Corvette. Quick detailing of the car back in the garage.

Glad you were able to enjoy a ride in that beautiful car. You should consider doing a video of the inside of your garage. I'm sure it's one of the nicest in the country.

Enjoyed your driving video. I know how you feel about those summer tires. I received my C8 right before Thanksgiving. Have not been able drive the car do the cold temperatures. I also love your garage.

Thanks George. I'm thinking with a set of allseason tires I could squeeze nice days, although cold, into March, April, October for driving

I did the same thing here in Ohio! I didn't today as they put salt down. I have the all season tires though so I can drive in lower temps. Great Vlog! 👍😎

Bet it felt good. Ive had mine a month and today was just my 3rd drive. Winter delivery sucks because you got this awesome new toy and are just staring at the long range forecast to see when you can drive it. Done about 140 miles towards my break in so far.

Know how you feel. I wanted the car so when my allocation came up it was you have to take the Z51 or wait longer. I didn't want the Z51 initially but......So, I think another set of tires is in my future. The car is just so intoxicating.

@@carsandwhatnotsenior4279 I plan on replacing mine with all seasons when I wear the first set out. I was in same boat z51 or keep waiting. Wasn't surprised since I got from the same dealer as you. I'm actually still waiting for my stingray-r decals. Claim they didn't receive them yet and will contact me when they get them and can install.

@@jeffkubiak7636 The guy Paddock uses to install those decals is very good. He did a great job on mine. Strange about a delay in decals though. Jeff, it would take me 4 or 5 years to wear mine out . So, probably getting a set of all seasons sooner rather than later. Gary

nice car and garage. I got an E-ray on order when the times comes. Even with the new colors I'll most likely get the AY. Im just not liking it in lower light when the green or blue pops out. I have Corvette yellow on my c7. I wished GM would change the yellow like they did for so many other colors. Would be nice to get velocity yellow back.

I know what you mean. The yellow looks so nice on the C7. My 2004 SSR had slingshot yellow which was Millenium yellow I think. But you will get used to the AY. In bright sun it really sparkles. To be perfectly upfront about the C8 colors in general, they could have done a better job. I have only noticed a tinge of green when for instance, a cloud moves across the sun. It's not bad though. Haven't noticed any thing other than yellow with my garage lighting. I actually like the AY, its a more modern yellow. At least I tell myself that. Gary

Just wondering what your feeling is on the Z51. After nearly 2 years waiting, my order has finally gone in but due to constraints I was forced to get the Z51, which I didn't want. I need the smoothest ride I can get due to rough roads in New Brunswick, Canada. If you were ordering again which would you get?

I was forced to get the Z51 also that I didnt want . I would still do that today if only the Z51 was offered. Make sure you get the magnetic ride. That will help and since your car will be equipped with summer only tires you will need a set of all season tires. Don't get the run flat ones. The run flats because of their stiffness makes the ride harder. Its a pain to have to spend the extra money for another set of tires but we both live in cold climates that cuts our driving ability with summer tires down considerably. So, I bought a set all season Continental Extreme Contact tires that aren't run flats. That way I can drive on nice days in March ,April, 1/2 May, 1/2 September, October. Back to your question- If I had the choice I would opt for non z51 but I would still get mag ride. Gary
