Enjoying your progress Marty. Can't wait to see it all finished and up and running. Cheers, Aaron

Got side tracked. I did dial in the axis. I downed my Atrump VMC for a control upgrade. So I'm working on it right now. In fact I'll use the Syil X4 to modify some keys for the new servo motors.

Thanks Marty. If Teknic will hurry up with the 25' pre-made cables, I'll order 4 SDHP's and a couple of their power supply units along with this C86ACCP.

Can I connect 5 Clearpaths with this BOB to the acorn? Please advice. Thank you in advance

Short answer is Yes. You can connect an X, Y, Z and an A plus a slave to X or Y. It would be most helpful if you described the application.

@@martyscncgarage5275 thanks for the reply Marty. I’m building a sphinx style cnc on a 300kg precision base using Hiwin linear actuators for all axis and a jianken 2.2kw ATC spindle. Initially I was going to use one of the actuators for the z axis in a more traditional router type build. 1 z axis, 1 x axis and 2 y axis. However, I don’t think the actuator for the z axis would be able to handle the forces generated when milling aluminum. So I came up with another design which I think would be able to hold up better and be more rigid. Basically, I designed it so the whole gantry would act as the z axis, kind of like on a Cartesian 3d printer where two steppers move the whole gantry up and down. This means I will need two Clearpaths for the z, two for the y and one for the x. I have the centroid acorn, C86ACCP, Clearpaths and everything else I need. However, only 4 motors, which will have to become 5 now. I’ve emailed Teknic and they sent me to you. So I was wondering if I can use 5 motors on the centroid acorn. Combining the 2 y motors and z motors Thanks in advance

What is the purpose of the C86ACCP? Acorn board has terminals already
@martyscncgarage52753 жыл бұрын
Makes using Clearpath motors plug and play using the Clearpath cables. Just plug them in

Ahhh copy that like a breakout board with specific terminals 👍

@@rc-cnc3431 allows you to directly plug in the Clearpath cables. C86ACCP is specific to Clearpath

Hi marty any updates on the next video?? I've got my acorn controller and the new bord for the clear path servos. How you finding them?? Any missed steps and is the repeatability good

I did a small machining job on the machine a few days ago, but not much else. Been busy with refitting my VMC

It's annoying how manufactures supply cables with connectors already crimped at both ends. One end, fine, but both ends... seriously? So either it's got to get cut off or bundled up. Just send them with one connector crimped, with the other connector components sent loose. Guess mfgs don't build stuff themselves...

You could buy one long cable, cut it in half, and get two usable cables. Or, make your own
