At least by making these videos you have documented the damage and it’s cause which makes it easier when the customer questions why the machine spends so much time in the shop. Happy new year guys.

@@craigtripp309 I guess the customer is satisfied w/ their past work. My Son has a repair business and he does the same type work. He wouldn't even try to do the machine work-his customers seem in a hurry-he'd just buy a replacment.

Definitely ALL the fun on this one. As a teen, I worked 2 summers with an old time logger (he was about 75 years old at the time), and absolutely nuts was just a regular day with him. My first day, I got yelled at for going too slow on JD skidder. He jumped on that machine and drove off the logging road at about 30-35 mph, right down the side of the mountain. It was a 1,200 ft drop down into a ravine and we rigged up a three way choker line with a dozer at the bottom and me pulling the top line up to road. I watched him run that dozer on one track pulling that bottom line with all that machine had. I'm sure that wouldn't bend the pivot shaft.🤣 HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!🎉🎊🥳🤙

My grandpa used a 78 case 350 with a old 4 way blade when he cut timber and he skidded with it and everything else and never had any major trouble with it. He was cutting timber 8 hours a day when he was 82. That's what age he stopped. I'll never see 82 much less cut timber 8 hours a day at that age lol.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Always find it interesting and entertaining whenever you break out the oxylances. First heard of those from a coworker who had previously worked for a copper forming company. Said they had once an accident, spilled a crucible full of liquid copper into a pit full of complex equipment. Had to get the line back in service as soon as possible. Said he was a supervisor at the time, he set the crew to work with the lances while he pulled the prints and ordered everything they needed to rebuild it from scratch. Said by the time he got off the phone ordering new equipment they were closing in on cutting a 6’ cube of metal and concrete out of the floor of the shop. They set up forms and poured new concrete back into the hole to reform the pit. Then the went home to rest and wait for the parts to be delivered. He was a force of nature and never said a job was to big or hard to do.
