To me those welds done by Tucker look like a truly fabulous job. I know, on camera at least, he tends to be very modest but I feel he sets himself to work to a very high standard and seems to achieve that goal in his work. Congratulations.

When the machine is given back to the owners, send along a complementary grease gun loaded and ready to go. I got really good at drilling out broken studs. The best drill bit to use is a carbide tip, they work great on stainless steel bolts while everything else just scratches it. Hitting the center is key. Tucker is on his way to becoming a very good welder. Get some certs so he can charge pappy more $$

Most stainless is relatively soft and can be like drilling mud. Down pressure and carbide will be your friends.

1st video by C&C for 2025, Love it. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year. Doing what C&C does best, refurbing Machines. You see DP has a new toy? 😍 I use to work at a welding shop, We cut the holes bigger and round, then made bushings to fit and weld in. Works fine and you can have the bushings stick out on the outside some for more steal to wear.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Very interesting and entertaining video. Great to see three generations working together in the shop. Always find the line boring interesting, especially after watching Keith Fenner on KZbin, if I’m remembering correctly he wanted to explain all the elements so he actually built a line boring rig up from scratch. A great watch if you have a bunch of time to make pass. Wishing you and your family the best.

First off, Happy New Year to everyone. In my time in the automotive industry (retired) I have always found that the manufacturer that is the leader in a special area of tools, is the one that is the most dependable. There are times that other manufacturers will try and make a clone of a specialty tool just to put their spin on it but you end up buying the name and not the quality. Miller is a leader in welding equipment, setting the pace for others to follow. Just like nothing beats a pair of name brand vice grips, anything else are just imitations..
