I hear the rumor is CAA is designing a slightly different brace for the Micro Roni, where it's closer in size to the stock one than this version that's a bit shorter.
@joshv066 жыл бұрын
Excalibur01 hmm. I can't see it getting smaller, the length of pull on the stab is already shorter than the actual stocked roni. I'd be interested in seeing it, though. I like this one because it can house the 6.5" threaded barrel.
@Excalibur016 жыл бұрын
No, I mean, they are designing a new brace that's longer than this one and looks more like the original stock one...I think. I didn't say the longer barrel with the brake isn't cool but as I see you struggling to get it in right, to me, that defeats the purpose of the speed and ease. As I said, for me, I use this set up as a sort of emergency survival gun set up. Take my pistol and extend it's reach a bit by making it more stable to shoot. Otherwise, it's just a range toy. Unless you plan to keep the pistol in this set up and have it as a dedicated subgun. In that case, there are better purpose built options out there.

It was the first time I had seen one before and it was pretty impressive. But does anyone know if this is really the case? I know lots of lawyers helped in the development of the product so you can have something 'similar' that didn't require tax stamps and the rest of the bs.

Just as a discussion, I'd but this as a sort of emergency use for my EDC Glock so I can quickly make it an even better weapon in a pinch or survival situation if I don't have my truck gun AR in the car. I can understand the coolness of why you changed out the barrel, but that's close to making this a more permanent subgun than for my purpose when I bought it as something of a force multiplier for my pistol I carry daily. I bought the factory light that goes with this thing because they designed a spot for it, why waste more money on an extra light that's outside the frame. I got mine with a Vortex but it's the RMR style one because I like the smaller profile of it on a setup like this.
@joshv066 жыл бұрын
Sure thing. I went with the light I have because I have 18650 batteries everywhere. I have 18650 battery banks, 18650 lights on all of my guns, 18650 vapes, 18650 solar chargers.18650's last very long and hold their charge well. I made this a dedicated subgun because it had everything I wanted in a subgun. I figured I'd make my dream subgun out of the Roni, without having to sacrifice the compactness of my G19 that I can have on my belt. Furthermore, I now have 2 guns that can interchange mags and ammo. I have an AR-9 and a Scorpion Evo. They're heavy, recoil more than they need to and are large. The Roni is compact, folds, has a similar barrel length, low recoil comparatively and takes Glock mags.
@Excalibur016 жыл бұрын
The Evo has some recoil to it, but it's not so bad that it can be tamed with training and just getting used to it. That's my dedicated subgun. It's size isn't much of a problem since it fits in the exact same backpack I use for my truck AR that's broken down for storage - and I can deploy the EVO faster since all I need to do is unfold the brace. As I said, for me, I keep the Micro Roni in the trunk with spare extended mags and CC my Glock all the time if I don't want to lug around my AR pistol. It's quick to set up for a survival situation. Personally, I wish the brace was a tad longer for a better length of pull and more slim looking.

BATFE has posted some letters stating that it inst illegal to "sometimes" shoulder "arm braces" but I do not think you can buy the "arm brace" with the intention of ONLY using it as a shoulder stock. The BATFE has fucking autism, if you couldn't figure that out from the 922r compliance, and the "shoelaces are considered fully automatic devices" rulings. They are trapped up in those offices with lead poisoning or something. I know that the company who makes Roni actually has a letter from the BATFE stating this ruling because they are paying a fee to use the brace to the company who holds the patent, and other brace manufacturers (Sig I believe is one, shockwave another) have letters also stating this. Basically, if it looks cool or fun, then the BATFE will try and piss in your Wheaties.
@dubb90206 жыл бұрын
so what does that mean. you can "sometimes" shoulder it? when is it not legal to shoulder it and legal to shoulder it? thats basically sayin if a cop sees you and wants to arrest you he can just cuz he feels like it that day. who the fuck makes these rules. is this really america gun laws right now? jesus christ its like a retarted 3rd grader came up with that
@idonotcollectstamps6 жыл бұрын
I think the wording from the BATFE is "Occasionally" shoulder the brace. It is designed as an arm brace, but putting it up to your shoulder does not change the intention of the device. I have seen zero prosecutions regarding this in the U.S. In other words using a spoon as a catapult does not change the spoon into a catapult. I told you, the BATFE has autism.
