[CAB RIDE] Bercher to Lausanne-Flon (Switzerland), April 2019

From Bercher to Lausanne-Flon on the LEB line (Lausanne-Echallens-Bercher).
Located in Switzerland, this regional metre-gauge train line connects the Canton of Vaud’s capital, Lausanne, to the cute village of Bercher. Under ongoing massive infrastructure upgrades since the early 2010s (new rolling stock, remote-controlled block system, higher-frequency service, more double track sections, removal of level crossings), the LEB line is required to serve its area’s rapid development.

Construction of the line:
- 1873: Lausanne-Chauderon - Cheseaux opens
- 1874: extension Cheseaux - Echallens
- 1889: extension Echallens - Bercher
- 2000: extension Lausanne-Chauderon - Lausanne-Flon (tunnel)
Recent infrastructure upgrades:
- 1995: Lausanne-Chauderon station is made underground
- 1998: renovation of Echallens station
- 1999: opening of Les Ripes stop
- 2001: renovation of Cheseaux station
- 2011: renovation of Romanel-sur-Lausanne station
- 2013: remote-controlled block system between Union-Prilly and Cheseaux
- 2014: remote-controlled block system between Lausanne-Flon and Union-Prilly
- 2017: renovation of Assens station and remote control
- 2018: track doubling at Les Ripes and remote control
- 2019: renovation of Sugnens station and installation of remote control for Echallens and Sugnens stations

Salutations du canton de Neuchâtel. Devant me rendre à Lausanne dans quelques jours, je ne sais pas si je pourrai faire un saut au Flon pour juste apercevoir ces rames ainsi que les nouvelles. Sont-elles encore en préparation ?

Salutations ! Les nouvelles Be 4/8 ne sont pas encore homologuées pour le service commercial. Cela devrait être fait d'ici à la première quinzaine d'avril. Quoi qu'il en soit, elles sont visibles à l'extérieur du dépôt d'Echallens. La troisième rame (d'une série de six) a été livrée cette semaine. Bonne journée !

L'espace permet à la courbe d'être moins prononcée, et donc de permettre aux trains de circuler à pleine vitesse. Il n'est pas prévu de construire des quais pour la desserte voyageurs à cet endroit.

Annonces naturelles (j’assume c’est Carole Félix?) sur le LEB ? Je ne les ai jamais entendu. C’était toujours TTS-Claire d’Acapella (comme à bord des bus tl et le m1)

Ach ich sehe gerade, dass ich dir ja auch auf Deutsch schreiben kann. Mich verwundern die Ansagen, da ich bislang immer die TTS Stimme in den LEB-Zügen gehört habe. Ich bin aber auch seit Dezember 2019 nicht mehr mit der LEB gefahren.

@@SuperUnbenannt In LEB-Zügen werden "Nächster Halt" Ansagen von Khany Hamdaoui ausgesprochen. Sie ist eine westschweizerische Schauspielerin, die in Echallens lebt. Für Ausfälle und Verspätungen werden Acapella TTS-Ansagen in Bahnöfen benutzt - oder manchmal werden solche Ansagen direkt beim Personal der Leitzentrale ausgesprochen.

@@PrismaCH Interessant, danke für die Auskunft. Dann sind das wohl die Ansagen gewesen, die ich gehört habe. Zum Glück gibt’s noch irgendwo natürliche Stimmen, jetzt wo sogar die SBB alles auf TTS umstellen. Die m2 in Lausanne setzt ja - interessanterweise abweichend aller anderen Linien der TL - auch noch auf eine natürliche Stimme.

@@PrismaCH Ich finds echt spannend, dass man solche Persönlichkeiten mit einbezieht. Das macht meines Erachtens dann auch irgendwo den Charme aus, auch wenn’s nur alltägliche Ansagen sind. Die Ansagen von Monsieur Häusler habe ich auch auf meinem Kanal hochgeladen. Die Aufzeichnung ist in den Lausanner Fahrzeugen aber nicht gerade einfach. Ach so, vollkommen vergessen: Danke fürs Hochladen der Führerstandsmitfahrt. Da kommen Erinnerungen hoch.

Un tunnel est en construction depuis Prilly pour éviter cette partie "tram", elle sera ouverte dans quelques mois
