Wonderful ride, very enjoyable as well as informative. All you saw was a great deal of wonderful greenery and how clean and beautiful the people there maintain it. Some RR crossings, no roads or highways are seen here, no major cities are seen here as well. Great Video again very enjoyable. Thank you for sharing. I am in the United States looking in at your wonderful country.

There’s no real towns seen along this route, although there’s a fair few level crossings. Glad you enjoyed it

I enjoyed this cab ride immensely. It was so nice to be able to hear the natural sounds. So many videos on railways and especially aviation videos these days mute all sounds in favour of music. Nice scenic route which I'm well familiar with.

Having lived near Chichester for ten years and still having family there; I can't tell you how many times I've travelled this line from Gatwick/Heathrow etc. First time I've seen it from the cab. Many thanks.

What a superb video! A real work of art poetic in its simplicity. The late summer afternoon/evening sky is sufficient for illumination whilst the light reflected off the sea strengthens as we head south. Am I the only person to find it hard to believe this video is shot in the most densely populated area of the UK? The landscape seem so remote and empty. Glad to see, or rather hear, that there is no "musical" accompaniment. Much better to hear the natural soundtrack plus informative captions. Looking forward to more such gems.

I worked in West Sussex for the same company for over 41 years. My area(s) were between Sussex, Hampshire & Kent. I lived / live in Chichester, and worked / passed through Horsham, Billingshurst, Amberly and pretty much all of the places on this route. It was really great, to see this route via the railway, really well shot video. Many thanks for posting, will look out for more if they become available. 👍

Thanks for the video. It’s nice to travel the route at a speed that lets us view more! The substations on this route, since the closure of Havant ECR.. .are now controlled by Eastleigh ECR and the old SR brickwork style (without the cement coating) seems to blend into the background much easier than the prefabricated subs on the Bournemouth route. Thanks for the memories! Incidentally,when my wife and I were returning home to Bournemouth from Budapest on the Railjet service to the new Vienna West station (it’s huge!) several years ago, I noticed a convoy of around 20 brand new Plasser machines travelling together like a long caterpillar on their way to the PT factory...perhaps on test?). Pity we didn’t have time to visit the factory this time, especially as it’s so close to Wien West. My regards, Rob.

All the substations on this route are controlled by Brighton. Eastleigh ECO only takes over from Emsworth on the Sussex/Wessex border. I didn’t know there used to be an ECO at Havant though - very interesting!

Hey emmo999, blessed thanks for uploading this and all your other railway cab view videos. I would be interested please to see a few more railway routes in southeast England have cab views filmed and uploaded onto KZbin: 1. Caterham via Kenley and through East Croydon. 2. Epsom Downs to East Croydon. As at Thursday 6th January 2022, the only KZbin cab ride I can see from Epsom Downs railway station was way back in August 1990. Please look into filming this route from Epsom Downs in the present time. 3. Brighton via Lewes, Polegate, Eastbourne and Bexhill to Hastings. 4. Haywards Heath via Plumpton to Lewes. 5. And please film some railway cab view videos of the London Overground routes. 6. The Heathrow Express route through all Heathrow terminals meeting the West Coast Main Line and to London Paddington. Cheers emmo999 in advance for filming and uploading any or hopefully all of these 6 railway routes as driver's cab view rides. ❤🙏

I don’t think it sees enough freight/plant to justify upgrade until truly necessary. The 75mph that passenger units are allowed to cross at covers 99% of traffic

What's the beeping sound (not the AWS)?
@emmo9994 жыл бұрын
That’s the vigilance. It goes off every minute and relies on the driver lifting his foot off a pedal and placing it down again. It’s the trains way of checking the driver is alert and awake. Failure to respond means the emergency brakes come on
@ewsclass66794 жыл бұрын
@@emmo999 sorry I should have clarified, not the DVD, but every now and again there would be one beep, different to the repetitive nature of the DVD until it is reset. 9:06 is an example
