In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view from Rosenheim in Germany to Brenner, a town on the border of Austria/Italy in 4K/60 frames per second.
This journey will take us along the Rosenheim-Kufstein railway which is a 32-kilometer-long double-track main line of the German railways. From Kufstein, the journey continues on the Lower Inn Valley Railway which is a two-track, electrified railway line that is one of the major lines of the Austrian railways. It was originally opened as the k.k. Nordtiroler Staatsbahn (Imperial and Royal North Tyrolean State Railway). It begins at the Kufstein as a continuation of the Rosenheim-Kufstein line and runs in a generally south-westerly direction through Tyrol along the Inn valley to Innsbruck. Both lines are part of Line 1 of Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T). The line is owned and operated by Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). The last part of this journey runs on the Brenner Railway, which is a major line connecting the Austrian and Italian railways from Innsbruck to Verona.

After arriving to Munich airport and gotten out of the city Rosenheim is, to me, place from where the fun begins! You can already see the Alps at the distance and just in minutes it’s all real around You! Excellent ride with scenic lush green views! Loving always to catch this route.. so many good memories arriving to Austrian Alps!

Thank you for posting this beautiful video. I had relatives who lived in Rosenheim and I’ve traveled this route in both directions and I’ve also driven over the Brenner from Italy on the original old road.

…and MY grandad lived in Oberaudorf! I visited every summer holiday. TEE Rheinpfeil from Hoek van Holland to München, then to Rosenheim, on to Oberaudorf. Balcony view of the Kaiser Gebirge for 6 weeks. I really should have gone to live there…sigh.

@@derrickgreen9020. Oh how I wish that I had moved to southern Bavaria. I had some marvellous holidays there. I worked for BMW in England and probably I could have got a job in a BMW garage but I never learned to speak German fluently, That was my Mothers fault but I can speak a lot of German and get around without any problems.

Meraviglioso filmato! Super! Dà in pieno l'idea dell'ebbrezza e della soddisfazione di guidare un treno (esperienza vissuta). Solo due osservazioni: in arrivo a Wörgl manca "from Schwarzach - St.Veit" e il tunnel Terfner è lungo 15.840 m. indicati invece 1.5840.

Der Schweizer Bahnhof St. Moritz hat mir vor Jahren einen Streckencoupon von Landeck nach Kufstein und einen Streckencoupon von Kufstein nach Gmunden über Schwarzach-St. Veit ausgestellt, obwohl es sich bei dem Zug um einen Korridorzug über die Rosenheimer Kurve handelte. In Scuol angekommen, ließ ich es an der Kasse ersetzen. Abgesehen von der Reiseroute, die nicht der des Intercitys entsprach, den ich hätte benutzen sollen, hätte ich den Abschnitt Wörgl - Kufstein zweimal zurücklegen müssen, einmal in die eine und in die andere Richtung.

57:48 the mountain you are pointing to is not Wildspitze. In fact, Wildspitze is way too far away to be seen from Innsbruck and there are a lot of mountains in front of it blocking the view. Also it would be further to the right. I researched a bit and found out the mountain that can be seen is called Serles and its altitude is 2717m.

Gotta love that border between Germany and Austria, if you look closely that flag signal on the road maps the border from two EU Countries... And that big blue signal ahead, indicates useful information like the various maximum speeds according to the type of road...

Planmäßige und pünktliche Zugbegegnung im Bahnhof Jenbach ab 40:38 mit der Ankunft von EC 87 (München Hbf -> Bologna Centrale) auf Gleis 2 und mit der Ankunft von EC 86 (Verona Porta Nuova -> München Hbf) auf Gleis 3 gegenüberliegend.

I love train journeys. My longest trip was on the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth, a journey of 3 days and nights as the train traverses the breadth of Australia. Yes I am an Aussie. 2 weeks later Ireversed the journey. It was a memorable experience. I love watching the new landscapes shown in these videos.

What a wonderful ride! I would never want to miss the de views especially on the Brennerbahn. So send the freight trains through the tunnels, but I prefer to stay on the classic lines. Btw you forgot to point out the Zillertalbahn at station Jenbach. And before this video I watched your cabride video of the Zillertalbahn!

Hi, beim Terfener Tunnel ist das Komma verrutscht, es sind 15.840m nicht 1,5840m. Und in Jenbach war links der Bahn die Anlage der Zillertaler Schmalspurbahn, Jenbach nach Mayerhofen im Zillertal

The dark green scenery looked like midsummer, 🏞 but there was still snow on the mountains, it was a very beautiful scenery.🗻 Previously the same lighting as the lighting of BERGISEL TUNNEL was also lit at TERFNER TUNNEL, it was like beautiful CG, 🚇 but now it is not lit. is a pity.  Thanks a lot !👍

@camerong5513 - BTW, ÖBB opted for locomotive-hauled push-pull high-speed train sets, which could be hauled by its existing fleet of Taurus electric locomotives. Introduced in 2008 the Railjet service operates at speeds of up to 230 km/h (143 mph). A Railjet train set consists of seven [up to ten] individual coaches that are permanently coupled with airtight interconnections. 27:58 Two complete train sets with two locomotives can be run as a pair giving a train of fourteen carriages.

On one end is Taurus locomotive while on the other end is a premium/first-class control coach (Afmpz, 8090 series), followed by one full first-class coach (Ampz 1990), a combined first-class/restaurant (ARbmpz 8590) and then four second-class coaches - three standard ones (Bmpz 2290) and last one, (first to the loco) having also bike racks and a kid's corner (Bmpvz 8490). Some sets are bit different (one more second-class coach in stead of first-class), but this is setup of most of the OeBB RailJets.

Excellente vidéo, que l''on peut diviser en deux parties : - le trajet dans la vallée, avec des moyennes très élevées, car les trains (contrairement à la France, depuis une trentaine d'années) ne perdent pas du temps à l'arrivée en gare, et y stationnent le temps nécessaire, pas plus. - la montée au Brenner, 800 m de dénivelé sur 40 km, à une vitesse honorable, malgré les rampes à 25, voire 35, avec des paysages à couper le souffle. On a déjà Brenner-Vérone, Venise-Trieste et Trieste-Ljubljana. J'attends et chaînon manquant, Venise-Vérone, et pourquoi pas au-delà, vers Milan, Turin, Modane... Encore merci.

Is there a power consumption limit 'on the pass'? The old Gotthard had 32000 HP 20 powered axle limit, and of course the new base tunnels allow greater speed and less power consumed. But no scenery. But as here the old line will still be used to service stations and industry and might get vintage trains in season?

@directorient Yes. The colours are showing the speed on the line. The red parts are when the train runs faster, and the green, where the train goes slower.

Because the train stops at Jenbach, and there is no exit before Jenbach. Trains stopping at Jenbach have to use the Bestandsstrecke ("classic line") and not the Neubaustrecke ("high speed line") between Stans and Wörgl Kundl, in both directions.

Probably because the scheduled stop at Jenbach which isn't connected to the HS line. By the way, in Jenbach you can see on the sidings on the left a train of the Zillertalbahn, which is a quite famous and scenic narrow gauge line to Mayrhofen.

Eine wunderschöne Strecke, vor allem der österreichische Teil. Aber die Ortsbezeichnungen stimmen wieder einmal oft nicht. Zum Beispiel heißt "Fishbach" in Wahrheit "Fischbach" (min 9:52), es fehlt bei der Einfahrt in Wörgl ein Hinweis auf die von links einmündende Strecke ("Giselabahn") von Salzburg/Schwarzach-St. Veit (min 27:46); der Bahnhof heißt zudem nicht "Worgl" (min 28:00), sondern "Wörgl Hauptbahnhof" (oder "Woergl Hbf"), der "Worgh RoLa-Terminal" ist falsch geschrieben und gliedert sich in "Wörgl Terminal Süd" (min 31:06) und "Wörgl Terminal Nord" (min 31:23), in km 18.8 (min 31:45) fehlt die Betriebsstellenbezeichnung "Wörgl West", der Bahnhof Kundl heißt korrekt "Wörgl Kundl" (min 32:59). Bei der Ausfahrt aus Innsbruck Hbf geht es rechts nicht nur nach "Arlberg, Schweiz", sondern auch nach Seefeld (min 59:05). Der Truck Terminal Brennersee heißt "Brennersee Terminal" (min 1:30:14). Und "Tunnel" schreibt man in Österreich groß. Ein paar kleine andere Fehlerchen sind vernachlässigbar und unbedeutend. Und auch die Bezeichnung der Lokomotive stimmt nicht: es ist NICHT eine "ÖBB Baureihe E. 190", sondern eine "ÖBB Reihe 1216"! Der Zug ist der "EC 87" von München nach Bologna, das wäre nachzutragen, und das Video dauert nicht 1:32 min, sondern 92:32 min. Die Unterinntalbahn wurde übrigens 1858, die Brennerbahn 1867 eröffnet. - Das alles wäre auszubessern, dann neu hochzuladen und dann ist das Video ein herausragendes Schmuckstück unter den Rail Relaxation-Videos! (Aber nicht mit so vielen Fehlern wie jetzt.)

Hallo montgomery, ich muss Dich leider etwas korrigieren....Die Führerstandsfahrt hier hat englische Untertitel, d.h. der deutsche Bahnhof Fischbach heisst im englischen "Fishbach", Wörgl Hauptbahnhof heisst korrekt "Worgl", da es in der Englischen Grammatik kein "ö", "ä" und "ü" gibt. Der Terfner Tunnel heisst richtig "Terfener Tunnel" (Tunnel ist gross geschrieben) und ist 15870m lang ( Angabe im Eisenbahnatlas Österreich). Sonst ist alles korrekt was Du geschrieben hast 🙂

The huge difference between Switzerland & Austria -- Germany scenery of rail is in A/G there is rail line along a mountain side, forests are deep here, & over all enormous green. But in Swiss Alps rail line is on flat ground, lots of meadows, hills little away from rail track, rail lines passing through Swiss towns as if it is a tram path, the neatness of streets along rail lines .So in comparisson the cup goes to Swiss rail scenery.

No the comparison is totally nonsense!!!! What you are talking about is that in Switzerland there are more small regional lines. That's it. Otherwise, it is the same, check out the old Gotthard or Loetschberg pass, it's the same as the Brennero.

To me it looks more like there is much more of an emphasis on higher speeds, which means most lines avoid going straight through towns and up and down mountains until they absolutely have too, which naturally leads to a very different vista - but also to a very different travel experience... given that even regular "non-hs" lines go like 150 or more, which is like double what you usually get in S. But once the trains actually go up... its pretty much comparable imho. I guess its a trade-off.

Intressante Strecke, aber beim Terfner Tunnel hat sich ein kleiner Fehler eingeschlichen, und war bei der Länge des Tunnels. der ist 15,850 m und nicht wie bei Euch 1,5840. da hat sich eine Kommastelle verschoben. Sonst bravo,
