Rio Placas and finally trees and greenery. Was finding the monotone brown a bit tiring. Great to see some water in the river even though it was just a narrow stream. Odd - for a train-bus that hardly went beyond 40kmph, it was a tease to have a speedo with 380kmph. ;)

I notice that the speed really picks up west of Choceň Station. I wonder from Choceň to Prague could the speed to increased to as high as 180 km/h. By the way, it appears to be _very_ noisy inside the locomotive cab at speeds above 120 km/h.

No tuvimos suerte. Hubiera sido de mucha utilidad para los residentes de la zona y un paseo de inigualable belleza para los turistas que iban a Termas.

Last train ride! Coming out of the Tupiza canyons was fantastic. The landscape then becomes hilly and bushy and a bit anonymous, without any towns or cities of any importance. After a certain zigzag of curves you reach higher speeds and run to Villazon on the border. Here too the roads and towns appear in an obsolete state of dilapidation. It's a shame because the country would have great economic potential. The stations seem abandoned to themselves. But perhaps the government is not interested in upgrading the line. Nice line anyway. Are there train connections with Argentina? It would be nice to cross the province of Jujuy and reach Cordoba or Salta. Maybe next year!

This section really shows a wild aspect like never before: it goes from the Atocha area, to the canyons of El Chorro flowing in the valley of the Tupiza river! We are in the Department of Potosì which in the past has always had a solid mining tradition, like almost all the Andean part. I read that to build the railway to Potosì the engineering works were very difficult to build given the difficulty of the complex Andean orography. The idea is to connect the two trunks of Bolivia through this line which would then descend to Cochabamba. The first section appears quite steppe and desert with the railway that climbs between the canyons. Then some natural tunnels and the descent into the river valley in an arid and poor context. The arrival in Tupiza is highlighted by the ever-increasing green, the widening of the riverbed and the Cerrito Enamorado Pietrificado, a granite rock that lies in the middle of the river. The final section sees imaginative rock shapes and is spectacular. Arriving in Tupiza highlights a city in expansion and a typical reality of a South American country. The rocky landscape seems almost alien at times but it is breathless. Magnificent!

Looking at these lines and the previous ones I went to read the history of Bolivia and the history of the Bolivian railways. The history of the Ferrovia Central Andina is interesting, but also that of the Ferrovia Oriental in the area of Santa Cruz de la Sierra (the largest city in Bolivia). The two branches are completely detached. It would be nice if I could reach the Yacuiba station on the Argentine border (on the site there seems to be a cabride to do or already done). Having said that, why doesn't the line start from Oruro? Why does it start from Uyuni where there is the Salar, the largest salt flat in the world? A fairly anonymous route up to Serdas, in an Andean landscape of aridity and shrubs, but the red granite canyons totally change the physiognomy of the landscape. And there is no longer a Ferrobus but a real diesel railcar. On the other hand, the history of the railway cemetery of Uyuni is interesting but also disturbing. I read that two years ago the Bolivian government had a Swiss company build the first electric tram in Cochabamba, a big city in the country. Congratulations for this nice video.

@wladislaw79 very interesting history that goes quite far back. .. As I already said, I filmed some more videos in Bolivia. Two of them on Ferrovia Oriental. There is a cab ride form the Argentinian border town Yacuiba heading to Santa Cruz de la Sierra. As the train leaves on the late afternoon, I just filmed a part of the whole journey. The same happened on Oruro to Villazón line. It was already dark when the train left Oruro and arrived in Uyuni early morning. That is why I only started to film in Uyuni.

Another glimpse of Argentinian Rail Network! I read a bit about the history of the various ferrocarriles including the Belgrano! It's a shame to see a country with such a vast railway history and an immense railway system, reduced to a few disused railway branches. In this short video you can see the valleys north of Salta shaped by the railway and seeing the General Guemes fork in that state is sad. I hope there will be more lines in the future. Do you still have South American material or are we waiting for next year? What are the plans for future states? Nice line!

Can I say something? I didn't expect Argentina's second city to be so dirty. The train is very nice and seems comfortable but leaving Cordoba (which for a million and a half inhabitants has a small station) in the middle of sewage, plastic thrown here and there, seems a sight unworthy of a nation as large as Argentina. Garbage and dirt everywhere! How horrible! However, the train serves as a surface metro line and connects to Lake San Roque and Cosquìn beyond the Serras de Cordoba. Urban landscape, hilly and mountainous landscape and finally lake landscape with the viaduct over the lake and then the Cosquin River. The Argentine railway network however deserves a better fate. The stations appear well-kept and the railway surface appears quite well-kept in the Cosquìn area. Another nice video like David knows how to do. Excellent!

Finally back to the Czech Republic! Rain, blue and light blue liveries with Ceskè Drahy logo! Siemens Vectrons running everywhere in Europe. Ostrava station has a very strange shape if you look it up. I didn't remember that it also had a second station, Ostrava Svinov. Hranice station, which is a key hub, has a still dated building that deserves a better look. It's a bit sad. I see that CD are improving the lines. The Prerov-Olomouc line has also been renovated. I remembered Olomouc station as large and extensive, while Prerov and Ceska Trebova are two major hubs of the Czech railway network, on a par with Breclav further south. This line is spectacular, and you'll see that in Pardubice they've renovated the entire station. A 5 million Czech crown project financed by the Czech Government, which is redesigning the most important stations of the Czech infrastructure. If you return to Czechia it would be interesting to see the Ustì nad Labem-Cheb line in the North West that passes through the cities of Most, Teplice and Karlovy Vary where there are the spas of the Czech Republic. Also the Prague - Dresden line along the canyons carved by the Elbe is very suggestive and interesting and is located between Czechia and Germany. Thanks for this beautiful video!
