I remember Gesundbrunnen from Saturday 11th July 1998, around 23.30 (11:30 PM). I was on Unter den Linden and west of the Brandenburger Tor for most of the day, but had to return to Gesundbrunnen by the U8 so I could take the S1 to Nikolassee where my youth hostel was located. That was the day of the 1998 Dr. Motte Love Parade "One World One Future".

How do drivers make out the signal aspects? They seem to be really difficult to see compared with typical UK rail signals! Is "LZB" (linear train control) in operation? 13:12

The Signal System calls Ks-Signals and it is very easy. ZBS (ETCS) is a train control system.

If This Were to be the Hamburg S-Bahn some of the signals have a Red & White Pole attached to them because it uses PZB like S-Bahn Rhein Ruhr Stuttgart Rhein-Main Rhein Neckar München Dresden Leipzig.

The drivers English is let's say interesting but his breaking was really impressive. Always within a metre or so of the designated stopping point and without readjusting after begining to break.
