@digitalqw33r He used no sand at all when he began moving. all he did was release the automatic, throttle up, and turn on the bell. After that he slowly released the independent...standard procedure. I have seen many trains begin to move and the reason the bell turns on is because the engineer honks twice and activates the bell that way or manually turns it on like he did in the video. I don't need to ask any engineer because I have been in enough cabs to know that the ATS is usually yellow.

sure would love to see part 4!!!!
@jpaufsc13 жыл бұрын
@digitalqw33r No its the bell switch. Watch after he honks for the truck at 2:37 and when he hits it to turn the bell on at 2:50. The yellow button is the ATS Reset.

@88junor Solid green means The line ahead is clear. The flashing green light means Prepare to pass the next signal no faster then MPH (Depend the speed) for diverging line.
@digitalqw33r13 жыл бұрын
@jpaufsc that's cuz when he applied sand the train therefore began moving and the bell automatically turns on for safety. the ATS reset is normally a black color and is not normally located by the horn.

well i just got done with conductor training at DCTC in minnesota and that was only seven weeks, great program, but what they told me is that it takes a while (about two years) to be promoted to engineer, then they send you to school for that, but conductor first

which buttons the bell ?
@peckerneck7912 жыл бұрын
Um no...that stick below the horn IS the bell. He hits it and the bell turns on....he hits it again and the bell turns off. And it does not matter which way you press it, up or down turns it on or off. Trust me...I've used these things many many times.

@Duane Taddei The place you guys are waiting at at the beginning the video looks really familiar. Are you guys near Rockaway Beach in this video? I took a road trip to California two years ago and Rockaway Beach looked a lot like this area.

I have a question for you, May I borrow the recorded Mile Post Detector Audio for my HO Scale layout sound system? It's a freelanced Class 3 that is partnered on UP Tracks. It would be a really neat thing.

@jpaufsc did u not see him use the throttle before the sand.... and have u ever seen a train began moving... the bell turns on.... and ask a real life engineer, they will tell u that the ATS reset is normally black, and besides railroad companies can get the cabs/ locomotives customized differently.... seriously dude try getting a train simulator or something...and in part 2 he shuts the bell off using the yellow button.

@digitalqw33r Plus I know how train simulator works and it is very inaccurate. Especially when it comes to cabs. Plus in part 2 you can even see the control stand when he shuts the bell off. Your argument is invalid. I know all of this for a FACT you can even ask any one of my friends and they will say the same exact thing I'm telling you.
