Riding on board 66952 hauling 4N52 empty set for Strabag tunnel segments. Very wet and there is a few hundred yards missing where I restart just before Hartlepool.

Now while I know it was a typo in the title it did still make me smile at the prospect of a new species of duck from Hartlepool! Great video as always and thank you for it.

Nice to see the train take the goods branch at the end. Looks as if the track had only just been reopened judging by the flailed lineside vegetation. Thanks for sharing.

Hartlepool station looks a lot better than a few years back. Been done up and much brighter.

Still waiting for the ducks. Maybe they were watching the Mallard. This is Hartlepool, where typos and slips of the tongue have consequences. Excellent video. one of your best.

Being from Hartlepool, I enjoyed this video. It would have been nice to see the video continue into the docks after crossing the bridge.

I think this is the first cab ride video of a train I planned, awesome! (I do the STP path timings for Strabag and Intermodal)

Thank you for this interesting ride, this is a part of the country I have never visited so it gives me an idea of what it is like. I was in Belgium recently using their trains and I noticed two things that are different to here in the UK. First, their freight trains are much longer than ours, I think ours are about 30 wagons on average, theirs longer. Secondly everywhere you travel by train in the UK you see litter on the trackside, hanging from bushes and graffiti on just about every bridge, wall or lineside equipment, Belgian railway lines are clean.

Great vid. Heartbreaking to see Stockton Station looking like just another halt. My grandfathers house overlooked the station and i have great memories of stopping off at the station as a child with my dad, back in the 60s, as we walked from the high street.back then it still had it's arched glass canopy in tact. It was a busy hub for passengers, freight and parcels. Happy days!

What's the reasoning for the locked gates at the end? Is Hartlepool Docks that secretive?
@317DanАй бұрын
Not necessarily secretive but it's just an anti-trespass measure, plus it's privately owned infrastructure so it marks the boundary between Network Rail and PD Ports who own the track beyond that point and pay for it's maintenance etc

@@317Dan Thanks for that.

Nice video... would have been nice to see inside the docks from a loco point of view... does anyone know what sort of crossover that is at 7:20... it doesn't look like a normal diamond crossing as its got pointwork... it looks more like a doubleslip but without the curved bits at the sides or 2 points put together without the lead in bit... described as best i can.
