This is an awful take, William. Sally was fantastic, both in direction and performance. A Sally Bowles that isn't 100% unaware of her situation but still clutches to ignorance out of a fierce determination to be a starlet, have fun, and prove that everything is okay despite being so far from it. She was heart wrenching
