The Kit Kat Club has taken over the Playhouse Theatre while it has been standing empty, making way for the electrifying musical, CABARET. The marginalised have staked a claim, the artists have taken over, filled their container and found their community.
The role of Sally Bowles is played by Rhea Norwood* (Netflix’s Heartstopper) and the role of The Emcee is played by Layton Williams* (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), with Michael Ahomka-Lindsay* in the role of Clifford Bradshaw until 21 September*, Sally Ann Triplett as Fraulein Schneider and Fenton Gray as Herr Schultz.
*From 23 September, the role of Sally Bowles is played by Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why) and the role of The Emcee is played by Adam Gillen (Benidorm), with Daniel Bowerbank in the role of Clifford Bradshaw.
One of the most successful musicals of all time, CABARET features the songs Wilkommen, Don’t Tell Mama, Mein Herr, Maybe This Time, Money and the title number. It has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, book by Joe Masteroff, based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood.
CABARET has won numerous awards, with seven Olivier Awards including Best Musical Revival and Best Actor and Actress in a Musical for Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley.
