Cabarete and Sosua Dominican Republic- Skip The All-Inclusive for a few days to explore a Hidden Gem

When you visit Dominican Republic it is easy to just book an all inclusive, and while I loved my experience it is definitely worth it to explore the north coast of the Dominican Republic and not visit just Punta Cana or Puerto Plata. Experiencing places like the digital nomad paradise of Cabarete by staying at El Magnifico and escaping the businesses of the town of Sosua and Cabarete with an ecolodge located on its' own private beach was exactly the experience I needed after the party nature of Punta Cana and the busy city of Santo Domingo. I got $300 in driving violations in Sosua and I drove better than anyone there... I went through hell getting my drivers license back ( they physically took it from me ) BEWARE drive perfectly out they'll stop you for being a tourist. I still had a great time though,

I nearly died from covid and the doctor told my wife I needed sunshine and sea. The swimming to help my scarred lungs. We airbnb'd in Pro Cab and we were there for so long we bought the studio.

How was the purchase process and cost?

@@nesq4104 We were advised to use Guzman of Sosua lawyers. They are more expensive, slower but we were asked to come into the office to pay the owners. I signed the deed and paid by bank transfer. I have a bank account here - Scotia bank. The smallest studios are going for about 70k right now. The lawyers cost about 4 percent.

@@dovygoodguy1296 Yes, everything is walking distance in Cabarete. There may be areas of Puerto Plata that are walking distance to beach, restaurant, supermarket, public transportation etc, but you will need a car or roll the dice on a moto.
