You and your daughter did an am job with the new cage. You still have some fantastic harvests and wow peppers 🫑. It is very rainy here and will be for the next few days. Wonderful choices of brassica and winter veg Ms Ursula. Have an amazing week, Ali ☔️☔️🇨🇦

Hey Ali, thanks so much, I'm so glad to finally have it up to protect my starts from the worms. Your area has rain, it hasn't rained here for at least 3 or so weeks. sometimes I wish we could switch weather ever once in a while, LOL. Have a wonderful evening.

Hi Ursula! Congrats on your new crop cage. I will be purchasing another one myself. 3 raccoons destroy it. I lived in my house almost 8 yrs and had never seen a raccoon in my neighborhood. I'm getting a real slow start planting out my brassicas. Due to the heat . I haven't pulled out my summer crops. Anywho 😂 As always, thanks for sharing!😊
@harveycontainergardener332Ай бұрын
Hey @elwandaa1882, thanks so much. Sorry to hear yours got destroyed by those darn raccoons. More and more animals are coming into neighborhoods now especially if the wooded areas they live in are being torn down. Then they search for and destroy our food. Let me know when you get your new one. Enjoy your evening.

Glad you got your crop house set up and getting things planted. It’s cool here too for the next few days, then back to the 80s next week. I had to buy cabbage and broccoli all my starts died when I went on vacation Labor Day, they got too hot… LOL anyways happy gardening everyone!!

Hey @StephaniesJourney, I'm so sorry to hear that but glad you were able to purchase some to get in your garden. Going on vacation is fun but hard on the garden. Have a great evening.

Hey Harvey, I love this weather also. I can stay outside and work on my garden all day, too!!! I just planted my mustard. I transplant my cabbage and 🌰. I also planted lettuce and radishes.

Hey @deborahsmith6285, Wow, sounds like you have it going on in your garden, absolutely love it. The weather is allowing me to be outside and get much more done than when it was extremely hot. Have a great evening.

You do a wonderful job! Where did you purchase the black tent if you don't mind me asking ⛺ here in Southeast Michigan from May to the end of September we have those cabbage worms they try to eat up all of our brassica, collard, cabbage, mustard greens! You do an excellent job with container gardening I'm in 6A Southeastern Michigan it gets very cold here🥶 I would like to say thank you so very much for sharing this great information be looking for the next video❤

Hey @debraflowers3418, thanks so much, glad I'm able to share. I purchased it from Amazon, it's called a garden crop cage (10 long x6.5 wide x6.5 high) and it was about $75. The one I had to replace kept my brassicas from getting eaten because the flying butterfly/moths that lays the eggs cannot get in. I hope this helps, enjoy your evening.

Hey harvey I always used my old soil and add more new soil i also add some old lettuce to my soil before i put the mulch in GIRL YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF!!!!❤❤❤🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿👌👌
@harveycontainergardener332Ай бұрын
Hey @missdevemissdeve8266, thanks...Getting rid of perfectly good soil and replacing with all new soil can get expensive real fast. I didn't add lettuce but I had some small corns that didn't form, I pulled the plants up and buried the corns. Great minds think alike...💚💚💚. Enjoy your evening.

Peppers will come back if you cover them Over winter. I put all mine in pots this year because I will be moving them to the porch soon
@harveycontainergardener332Ай бұрын
Hey @DigginginthedirtwithTamikoDee, thanks so much. I did think about over-wintering them but for some reason, none of the plants did very well this year. I may keep 1 or 2 of them and start some new ones next Spring. Have a great evening.

Good afternoon Ms. Ursula. I just started my first container garden this Year. I normally plant in the ground, unfortunately here in woodmere the groound is sinking. Any advice on container location?

Hey @yolandalee4494, Wow...that sounds like an awesome okra harvest. It definitely is very hard to say goodbye but will be soon.

@@harveycontainergardener332Yesterday there were a lot of flowers and bees but the flowers were shut. I guess they were waiting for the opening unless they’re already pollinated. I waited to it warmed up and gave the soil some water. There was a jalapeño that decided to pop out and my daughter is happy about that. She loves hot and spicy food. I’ve shared with neighbors, family, and coworkers including freezing a couple of bags for myself so in a way I want those okra to go ahead on lol. I’m already late planting lol plus my Grassman has shot grass seeds in part of my soil by accident so I have a few clovers to pull. It’s an above ground garden with landscaping fabric but it’s only one level this year. This is my first year here but my goal is to go up a level at least once a year.
