Wow this are beautiful plants and the harvest was phenomenal. What fertilizer do you use? Congratulations 🎈
@harveycontainergardener3323 сағат бұрын
Hey @JamericaLife, thanks so much, definitely excited. I use bone and blood meal at planting then I add 511 when watering them twice a month and Morebloom when watering once a month. Added epson salt once but that's practically it. I am amazed at your sweet potato harvest, all 5 of them were awesome. Happy thanksgiving.
What a beautiful harvest. Yes it is indeed an abundant blessing my gardening sister. Question: How do you prepare your pepper plants to overwinter them? Do you leave them in their containers as is or do you cut them down and place them in a smaller container? Thank you for sharing your time, tips and your garden with us newbie’s. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
@harveycontainergardener3323 сағат бұрын
Hey @sonyalewis-ou5xz, thanks so much. I definitely feel blessed with this harvest. To over-winter them, I would start at the very bottom of the stem, go up until you see the plant branching out. When you identify a Y, cut a little above the Y. Remove it from the big pot and put the roots/stem in a smaller pot and let the soil just cover the roots. Very little watering is needed during over-wintering it and in Spring, you should see some new shoots coming out. Happy Thanksgiving.

Hey @karencolson8330, thanks. They don't do well in the heat so I've learned to plant them out in early Spring, nothing for the summer and late fall. Happy Thanksgiving.

Hi Ursula 👋🏾 I'm a new gardner. This past Spring I planted my first small garden. My harvest was very little. However, I learned that tomatoes blush from the inside out. You can put your not so ripen tomatoes in a brown paper bag, put them near the window, and they will continue to ripen.

Where can I find the collard trees
@harveycontainergardener332Күн бұрын
Hey @SowYouRight...I actually purchased Georgia collards seeds, planted some and ending up with 2 tree collards that grew. One died but the one that survived went to seed and I harvested the seeds and replanted some this Fall. I waiting to see how they grow, hopefully a true tree collard. Enjoy your evening.

They definitely shriveled up. I’m still undecided on dehydrating. May just depend on if I find a good deal next week. But it’d be nice to be able to preserve more besides freezing.

Hey @txLALA, thanks...Yes they do shrivel up. Hopefully the stores will have sales for the holidays. When I harvest the next ones, some will go into the freezer. Have a great evening.
