It's a shame that players of Darcy's intensity/grit are a dying breed. God when I was a kid in the late 90s/early 2000s, hockey seemed so much more fun to watch then than it is now. I truly miss watching guys like this.

Im 24 now. I was at a Leafs game back when I was, oh, I think 15 or 16, hell maybe even a year or two before that, and I was wearing my Tucker jersey even though I think by this time he had retired. In between first and second period I was with my dad getting food and had to do a double take as some dude walked by me (this is purple seat upper levels at the arena) and says, "Nice jersey kid!" All I said was "thank you dude". And in the two seconds after that he disappeared into the crowd who were all tryna find lineups for food and washroom my heart SANK and I looked at my dad as he was just laughing at me and I was like "HOLY SHIT THAT WAS DARCY TUCKER!" Oh how I WISH I had paid more attention and asked for him to sign my jersey. I rest my heart knowing he just touched it when he patted me on the back as he passed by. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Guys like Darcy, Keith Acton, Ken Linseman, Esa, Claude Lemieux, Duane Sutter are being eliminated by today's PC version of what the NHL used to be. Gone are the characters which drove players and fans crazy alike and were so essential to the rivalries and feuds which are so lacking today that we constantly have to be presented films of years gone by to try and make today's snooze-fest disguised as hockey interesting. It's sad. I'm a Rangers fan since 1979 and Darcy drove me nuts when he came to town either as a Leaf or a Lightning, but he entertained the hell out of me. I am grateful he's healthy and sound and I thank him for sacrificing his body all of those years to entertain me.

I was lucky enough to meet this amazing human being twice in my life. Once at The Pickering Town Centre when he was on the Leafs, and the second time was in Stirling when we won the Hockeyville competition! Mind you he was in a room watching the Leafs game and wouldn't come out until the intermission which was awesome! He will always be a Leafs fan! Was extremely nice to me both times! 👏❤️

A great interview! It humanizes Tucker. As a Devil's fan, I hated him; but would have loved to have had him wear those red sweaters with that bent-up horn on the front.

I wish someone would get into a deep down dirty conversation with Darcy about the Ottawa rivalry and most notably Alfie. I'd love to hear Darcy talk some smack and let us know the emotions and feelings during those playoff series.

He actually did talk about this when Alfie retired. Nothing but respect. 👍

As a Junior player his scoring accomplishments were massive, yet he had to change his game to more of a pest to really establish a career in the NHL at that time. Great Leaf left it all on the ice every game.

You want to know what type of human being Tucker is? Well about 5 years ago I was dating a woman that worked at The Hospital For Sick Kids Foundation. The foundation solicits funds mainly from corporations and individuals of means. Most don't understand why they need a constant flow of $. Think about it; they treat everything from the new borne to 18 year olds. So they need, just as an example, equipment of a multitude of sizes. And the Ministry Of Health has a funding policy that is the same for all institutions which obviously does not cover Sick Kids special needs. Any how my GF tells me to go to this address in the Yonge and York Mills are to pick up some things for a silent auction. Well Tucker answers the door. I tell him why I am and why I;m there. First impression is that guys stats, (height and weight) were a total lie. I'm 6'2" nd 225 Lbs. He looked like a little kid. Second impression? His face looked like a road map. OMG the scars were scary. Point is he treated me, (a stranger like his best old time buddy). And he loaded me up with signed sticks and game-worn jerseys. Till this day I think about what a great selfless, (like he played) he really is. And BTW his donations garnered $22,750.00 For the hospital!!!

I never really liked Tucker as a player, but I appreciated the role he played ie) Pest. Will never forget his hip check on Mike Peca, which totally destroyed his knee and put him out for most of a year.

Hockey players can't be authentic, its wild. These interviews are always so guarded. Hockey needs more authenticity
