Around midnight two guys came walking out of where the tractor trailer rigs were parked and one of them came up and said "Hey friend, you got an extra smoke to spare?" I said "yeah man" and flipped a couple of cigarettes out of the pack and handed it to them. They fired them up, took a couple of drags and said thank's man, then walked away. My friend said "do you know who that guy with the foreign accent was? That is Malcom young, Angus Young's older brother. I said, why didn't you say something while he was standing right there next to us? He said, i don't know man i guess i was too nervous to say anything. I met him twice in the same weekend, London 1988. An absolute gentleman. Me and my friends weighed in to appear in the crowd scene for the then new single That's The Way I Wanna Rock n Roll. The "live" part of the video was filmed in Wembley Arena where the band did a 3 night run. My brother and a close friend who also were in the video have since passed away. Neither of them lived to see their 26th birthday. I miss those guys. I miss those days. Keep going as long as you can, Angus. Keep flying that flag for Rock n Roll.

Been listening to Acca Dacca since I was a kid. The sheer skill of Angus impressed me straight away, but as I've grown older, my appreciation for this band has also grown. I currently live in Perth; up the road from the notorious Canning Highway (Highway to Hell) Bon Scott's grave is down at Freemantle. There's a lot of AC/DC history around here. To me they are the epitome of raw energy skin and bones rock and roll; just average young guys in an Aussie garage band, just rocking out for the pure love of music and not giving a sh*t about fame or any of that. Probably one of the greatest guitarists in the world and simply humble about it. Legend.

@Goosecore Yes, but Blackmore was pissed, 'cause he couldn't jam with AC/DC in the Marquee back in 1976. This new generation who shits on previous music, including AC/DC, is mostly by those "intellectual" and "sophisticated" portion of metalheads , who think music as a race and competition, but can't play oldschool songs properly and thinks only metal is nuanced and worthy.
@matefulop11384 жыл бұрын
@Goosecore I must and have to salute AC/DC and especially Malcolm Young for sticking up for his vision. It's easier to join the shallow, commercial side of bubblegum music (but I don't mean mianstream = bad) to fit in, especially when your record label is about to drop you, cause you are not succesfull enough. Yes AC/DC is about having a good time, while they are providig an awesome rock & roll soundtrack to your life. One aspect of AC/DC's music many (mostly white) musicians don't get is, they are playing "black music" with a "black menatality". I'm not trying to steer this conversation to a topic about race, but I think it's important, to note, that many black musician serve the music first and foremost and don't try show and bring his/her own ego into the mix - while, I feel, several "white musicians" do, especially in metal, which I don't like very much, because of this very reason. I find that I gravitate more to "black music", such as Jazz, Blues, R&b, Soul, Gospel and Rock & Roll, as Angus and Malcolm did, when they were young (no pun intended). The brothers also adopted this philosophy - coming from black culture - and this mentality also helped them to achive global succes while sticking to their vision and having mostly a good time in their carriers. This difference is the reason, why "Become the Knight" guy and many other alikes will never get AC/DC and several others bands, who just play and enjoy music while not worrying about, what the others might think about them. Mustain and Hetfield are the best fit in their respective bands. Those bands work also, cause 4 good musicians, who also go together very well can create magic. Several musicians and fans need to learn more about the differences between the genres of music in order to not make many false claims and ignorant comments, when they criticise music, they don't like or not familiar with.

I was exactly the same. Got my first SG when I was 16. But at age 16, I was six foot one, 180 lb and all in love with myself. So I strapped it on and went to look at myself in the mirror with it and was disappointed at this tiny guitar I was wearing. I couldn't figure it out! It looks so big on Angus! But I had just traded 3 amplifiers and a Charvel guitar for this brand new 61 reissue Les Paul SG. Oh and I had to pay five hundred bucks on top of it. I really loved that guitar. Had it till I was 18 at which time I sold it for $200 so I could buy coke. Let that be a lesson to the kids, two lessons actually. First lesson is that Angus is a little guy! Second, drugs suck!
