I can just imagine the immediate facetime Caroline had after this telling Arthur that on no uncertain terms should he never do this breadstick party trick to passengers. That poor woman.

PFFFFTTTT! After four months of quarantine, I can beat that with my leg hair.

As a piano teacher myself, I am rather red-faced to admit that it has taken me 18 episodes to realize that Arthur is performing the Cabin Pressure theme...though in my defense, it's only recently been anywhere near the right tempo. And then there's the state of the piano...Anyway, an extra round of kudos today. Every week when I hear, "This week: Fitton!" I giggle. During a quarantine, in a show called "Cabin Fever", the enthusiastic surprise with which Fitton is announced just tickles me. "Brilliant!"
@OperaLily4 жыл бұрын
wait, I know you!! My mum and sister came down to visit in 2006 or something for one of your plays. :D And I might be wrong, but I don't think it's tempo so much as time signature. Plus the phrases are weighted differently--and the professional violinists sound so frantic in the recording I think our Arthur can take it slow.
@laurenennisnichols84304 жыл бұрын
OperaLily Hello! Small world, eh? So you’ve been to Fort Wayne to see an all for One show? Neat! Re: time signature, I suspect it’s both. He’s feeling it in a labored 4/4 when it’s a frenetic 2/4...something like that, anyway! Tickled to find someone in the Midwest who’s a Finnemore fan.
@aiyamusicchannel4 жыл бұрын
Okay this makes me feel so much better because I only noticed like two episodes ago, and then only because somebody mentioned it in the comments XD
@laurenennisnichols84304 жыл бұрын
Alexandra, I hesitated to even mention it, because I generally don’t read the comments and I figured someone else might have said something about it ages ago...I’m really embarrassed I didn’t catch it sooner. But it is just one more reason to admire the genius of John Finnemore.

I wondered in the first few episodes, but couldn't quite reconcile the differences in my head. Then catching up last night (from episode 8 onwards!) I'd heard it enough times to REALLY very strongly wonder - I'm glad to have a professional confirm that's actually what it is and not my brain so asked it's desperately trying to make connections where none exist :D

I don't have a lot of pencils at home, but I was able to get an entire place setting - salad fork, dinner fork, soup spoon, tea spoon, and butter knife - in my hair. I'm too camera-shy to send John a picture, but perhaps you could draw one and show it to him.

I love it! The commentary is hilarious. I did a similar thing where I claimed the world record for most pencils in a beard on my channel about 5 years ago. But I'm going for the actual Guinness World Record for most pencils in a beard very soon! 😁👍🏻👍🏻

Well done, you! That was some truly impressive beard threading. Back in my long hair student days, I often finished the day with a goodly assortment of writing implements in mu hair, as I stuck them in there then forgot about them. Shorter hair these days, but I think I'm going to try. If I can get more than eight, a photo will be forthcoming!

Hi Arthur! I don't have a beard, and my head hair is short and rather slippery. I thought about trying to play along with some curly hair elsewhere on my body but then realised a) I probably shouldn't send you a photo and b) there was potential for serious injury. So I've decided to wait until the next game before joining in. Brilliant! - Serena

Is there any rule about the size of pencil? If they were the tiny Argos shop pencils you could probably support more in the beard. And if the beard was even longer and plaited you could create a bigger interlocking pencil structure, like Martin’s Christmas party pasta hat in Molokai.

When my hair was very long it went up in a bun, held in place with a pencil, usually. Such an interesting collection of pencils over the course of years. Now it's short, and would support fewer than a beard.
