Kyle, I suspect you have many more clients than customers; a customer is someone you might only see once even though you do good work- a client is someone you will do very good work for , because they will help sell your future jobs. You work very hard at never doing less than very good work. As a plumber. I have gotten to work around "less good" framers- framers for whom "good enough" was the standard, and some who work like you; I much prefer your style, as it makes it ever so much easier for the 25%, that actually shows, of my plumbing to look great when we finish. Always awesome- the visual symmetry as the parts come together says it all!

I put 4 coats of high traffic wax on after the sealer on my shop floors. That can get scratched up, but it doesn't matter because it's a sacrificial coating and looks great when I rewax it. That way the sealer isn't affected by moving equipment around unless you really gouge it. It just get's mopped on and takes about 1 hour between coats, so half a day to put on 4 coats!

That's a nice project to take your time to get things perfect. I'd do the same thing on all of my builds. Right now I'm building a three and a half story geodesic dome home out of wood with no hub connectors. It's actually a double dome that is connected with a short but very wide hallway. The main dome is a 50 ft. diameter and the other is a 20 ft. diameter. It's a bit over 5342 sq. ft. There are what I call pop outs but I think they are called extensions. My wife and I are building it with our own hands and no hired labor at all. We are building it from the foundation up to finish. We will sell it once done but we are doing the work like you do. Perfection isn't an accident. She is a cabinet designer, builder, finisher and installer. I'm a general contractor but specialize in hi end finish carpentry and framing of all types. Love your channel and I learn a lot. I love the tools you use but haven't invested in new tools in years. All my stuff is getting old and but I take care of all that I have so they are still working perfectly.

No worries Kyle on the walls time table. If that is what it takes to be accurate, plumb and level, I think most folks are good with that especially if they are expecting quality work. Our tract homes must have a 1/2" tolerance threshold in the industry as that is what they look like. Custom homes are tighter tolerances but I'm fairly sure not many use the Stabila lasers vs. a Stanley tape measure. I'd have to vote no one the flooring color...shows too much dust and will darken the rooms too much. Lighter shades of colors rule in the long run.

Kyle, I was raised as a blow n go carpenter...we literally ran across the slab, we carried at least 10 studs at a time, and we 1 licked 16d's with our riggin axe before nail guns... If something was a quarter inch out that was the same thing as perfect. We built many tract homes in a day and a half, and they damn sure were good enough. I chuckle often watching your obsession with framing perfection. While I'm sometimes jealous of your tools, you'd drive me fuk n crazy with your methods that won't leave good enough alone. I'd have 2 buildings done in the same time as yours...even with coming back to fix my mistakes here and there. Having said that, I have great respect for your skills..which are mostly surpassed this old time framers'...Jesus was the only perfect carpenter.

It's taken you a "longer" time to do this build because you actually take pride in your work. Let the finished product speaks for itself. We all see it. Nothing has to be said here. This also speaks volumes about you as a business owner and builder. You actually go the extra mile to produce a better product. Having that type of mindset will only make your business prosper that much more in the long run. Sadly, this is the standard that a ton of companies follow. The majority of owners/builders nowadays is all about quantity over quality.
