Q: How do you have internet at your cabins? A: I have cell service at both cabins but it is spotty due to foliage and cloud cover. I can access the internet from my cabins but have to drive to a local wifi location to upload videos.
Q: How old is Frankie? A: Frankie will be 10 in April of 2018
Q: What video editing software do I use? A: Presently, all I use is Windows Live Movie maker but I’m considering trying imovie, Adobe Elements or SONY VEGAS PRO.
Q: How do you get your water? Did you dig a well? A: Presently, I haul water to the NY cabin but at the NH cabin, I drop a kettle into an old well that was dug by hand by the settlers in the 1700’s.
Q:What is your favorite brand of cast iron cookware? A: I prefer using vintage cast iron. My favorites are BSR and Griswold. If I had to buy new I would buy a Lodge Brand. I plan to purchase this dutch oven in the future:
Q: What do you use for refrigeration? A: We have a small gas refrigerator that we salvaged from an old Shasta camper and a custom icebox that I built into the cabin wall. We make ice on site with a propane freezer.

Q: What do you use for cooking and heating? A: We use a Kitchen Queen 380 for cooking and heating during the winter months but we also have an antique gas stove in the cabin for when we don't need the heat from the KQ.

True companions like Frankie are a rarity. I used to have a Lab that was just as smart but even more willing to please. She was a Gem. Frankie and I butt heads occasionally because we're both turning into stubborn old farts haha.

Gardening With Puppies I saw your cabin in one of your videos a while back. It looks like a wonderful place. Moving there permanently sounds like a great idea. As soon as the snow is gone, I will start emptying my outbuildings and then my homestead will follow with big yard sales in the near future. I plan to bounce back and forth between my 2 cabins and enjoy the best of both worlds.

Aw Frankie's a beautiful old soul! Smart too, the way he fetches wood 4 you, finds his frisbee. Even helps you find your squirrels. I despise squirrels. They do so much damage when they get in attics. Chew up wiring that can cause fires. I wish you could trap every last 1 of them! Oh & your real lucky no mice wiggle in. Cabin must be real tight. I have to tell you boss! I have a dog just like yours on my plow route that chases my plow all the time and the other night after all the ice we got instead of chasing the truck he tool off across his yard full speed and could not stop because of the ice and slammed into his house. He was ok but I almost went of the road because I was laughing so hard! This dog is a something else!!! Got to love dogs! Cool vid again boss!! Have a good Christmas!

thebossoftheswamp My dog, a very large alpha female German Shepherd, is the same, but she is used to being the chaser, not the chasee, including chasing and treeing a 300 lb black bear in upstate PA. Then one day she chased a pretty big whitetail buck with a considerable rack, who didn't get the memo. She really freaked when he stopped, turned around, and faced off with her!

Frankie looks to be a smart pup and loves beings out there. You may have thought of this but if you got Frankie some booties, once use to them he would wait for you to put them on him and out you go into the bush, no more ice balls for Frankie. I have a springer spaniel that has hair between her toes. Now with the booties she loves it it no more ice balls on her toes.

Hello, JC. I really had a good laugh with this video (had to laugh soflty because my housemates are already sleeping, heh). Frankie's tap dancing was really funny! I really enjoy your videos and feel like I'm there too. Ah, the simple life! Nothing like it. Thanks for sharing it. Never mind the critical comments. Some people would be millionaires if criticizing made any money. Don't they know that man needs to harvest animals to survive? Even all of us in big cities eat animals all the time; someone else kills them and we are grateful and enjoy them. That's the way it's supposed to be for now. And you are very considerate of nature and only harvest the animals you actually use, not for sport but for actual food. Some people are just not very intelligent and like to criticize the ones who are. Keep it up. I wish one day all of mankind would be able to live in peace with each other, respecting nature and one another, and enjoying that simple life like you. One of these days I hope to have this same experience. Walking in to my own cabin on my own land in two foot of snow. Asked myself why do I like these videos so much and I think its because of the inner kid in me and just a small place to myself to get away. Keep doing what your doing boss

If you ever find yourself in this same scenario, I'm certain you wont regret it. It'll be the best investment you ever made... so go for it. I only have 9 grand invested in the land and 6 grand in the cabin. It's not an impossible task. Best of luck to ya.
