In America the face frame overlays the carcass, usually 3/16” or 4.76mm and our stock material is 3/4” or 19.050mm

Hi there, just wondered what jigsaw blades you use. I am getting a lot of chipped edges on my finish board. Even tried masking over the line.

Only 5 ways I know of are: 1) Down cut (or Reverse blades) 2) Use Metal (fine tooth) cutting blade - but it will take you forever and a day 3) Cut from underneath - so that means still have material face up so you can see scribe line - but hold jigsaw upside down with the blade reciprocating towards you. 4) Cut well on the waste side and plane it back 5) Belt Sander They recommend you score the face with a sharp blade, but that won't work on shaped cuts - only straight lines

Cheers dean . I’ve never tried the laminate blades that cut in the opposite direction. Do they actually work, or do you still get breakout . I can’t master holding the jigsaw under the board🤣🤣

@@paulyoull5472 They can bounce around a bit on Worktop thickness board...because the blade is pushing the material away from the sole plate...whereas its normally pulling it in to the sole plate. Of the options I said...cut it strong and belt sander is my preferred technique.

we use a lot of T101b and T101br blades, the setting of the jigsaw is also important when getting the required finish
