I know your job has metrics they want you to complete for each job. We used to have to take pictures of the tap and ground block before completing jobs and at the end call doj to run pure pass.
@jeffersonjive24843 жыл бұрын
Solid bro, don’t forget about the old cables that you can’t reinstall and how much of a pain in the ass it is. At least from winter in Chicago
@mikel95673 жыл бұрын
I was a contractor for Comcast. Whoever did that initial install was lazy as hell. Proper install would have never been cut. We spliced drops all the time. Can't always pull a new drop, though that was my primary job pulling and burying drops. If possible we pulled a new drop but we would splice them too. Not much signal loss in the drop if it's spliced correctly.

I work for a company called EPB all fiber to ethernet we are not allowed to see anything over 3 foot of cat 5E on the outside of a house before we enter attic or crawlspace unless they don’t have either of the two... we also can’t splice if the ethernet is cut we cannot repair with RJ 45 we have to re-run the line unless in a smart panel of course

Oh, my god. I found some lazy techs to splice drops, time after time. Like today. I told the customer, his ariel to barrel drop was done incorrectly. There was a huge amount of service loops and connected to the barrel, without even rubber garments. I was the second tech to show up at the same house within the same day.
@DashingintheD4 жыл бұрын
That's not good. I see it all the time. We was not allowed to splice drops.

Not trying to knock you or your co. But that line should be completely replaced with no splices. Our boss would have our ass for this and call us just plain lazy
@DashingintheD3 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t get in the house to replace it.
@Matthew-nm4bl3 жыл бұрын
@@DashingintheD that'll happen. Cheers fellow tech! Also you should try the lemco tq-7/16 if you haven't already. The butt allows you to put a fitting in and help get it on. Great for rg11 in the winter!
