Geezer at the Wheel

Two senior citizens travel with 2 shih tzu "fur kids" in "Classy", a 1991 Tioga Class C motorhome.
Filmed May 31, 2017.
Earl and I finish this project except for a few details and a lot of cleaning. But ol' Classy is finally water tight and ready for action.

We just bought a 30 year old motor home, much like Classy, with similar issues. Being brand new to RV’ing, I was thrilled when I found this rebuild. Our rebuild will have to wait until we finish a 2300 mile trip in a few weeks, though. Thanks a bunch, I found your videos extremely helpful. Happy wheelin’!

Similarities are spooky! I've just found all of your bunk-over issues present on the '92 Tioga Arrow that I just picked up last week. I did the same thing by taking it to a local state park to see what I had. Following your progress has been very helpful but quite overwhelming. I only found your channel yesterday and have binge watched your project. I've got a project ahead of me and seeing various phases you've gone through has been heart breaking. I appreciate your list of products and hope that I can be as successful. Our Tiogas are near twins and believe it or not, we even look like each other. Fun times.
@GeezerAtTheWheelGang
@GeezerAtTheWheelGang 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff! I think you will enjoy your Tioga. I know Classy has been a great investment and has given us very little trouble. I'm not going to lie to you. This cabover rebuild has been a bear. But if you take your time and think it all through you can do it. Tip: Take lots of pictures before and during demolition. You may need the references when you start reassembly. That's cool that we have the same paint schemes. We're adding a little black here and there to create a 3 color scheme on the outside. Thank you for watching and great luck to you on your upcoming project. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me via KZbin messages or (better yet) our Facebook group page. facebook.com/groups/GeezerAtTheWheel/

I am just getting into my problem.Started taking it apart just today. I asked the owners if it ever leaked and they said no.It rained,I found water on the bunk and then see where they had put caulking on the inside.Heart breaking is right. I just bought it last fall and my wife and I haven’t even used it yet.But I’m getting at it. I hope both of you were able to enjoy yours.

SSSSSsooooooo are we ready for the road???? I hope so cause I know that I am. So glad that it is finished as it is camping season. Here we go. How is Lucy doing by now? I bet she is chomping at the bit. I know that I would be. Where to first? I thought that maybe it did not matter other that here where to first? Are the girls ready for camping? Do they get excited? I know that I would get excited. I am ready when you are ready.

Hi Joyce! There are a few more todo's on the list before we can take Classy out again. This was the big one and I'm so thrilled and grateful (to Paul and Earl) to have it done. Lucy is thrilled to have this behind us and (yes) she is chomping at the bit to get on the road. We have no real plans at this point. The Colorado trip, at this point, is doubtful due to the expense of this project. It really took a big bite out of our travel fund. All we have to do is mention Classy and Go in the same sentence to get the girls all fired up. They really have come to enjoy riding in the "rolling cave". LOL We'll get out there as soon as possible. Thanks for your continued interest.

I hope we can meet up on the road somewhere in the future when I get retired this year. We are anxious to start our own journeys. Thanks to your family for getting you over the repairs hump! Hi Steve! I'm glad you enjoyed the vid. Classy's rebuild came out pretty darn good, but the expense has taken a BIG chunk out of our travel fund. It may be a little while before we can take a long road trip, however, we have some shorter ones on our list. There will also be some week-end stays with Earl's family that should be a hoot! I also hope we can meet in person somewhere is our travels. It would be great so say hi to you face to face. My family did indeed come to my rescue once again. Thanks for your continued interest and support. We really do appreciate it! Happy Trails right back atcha'

Hi Leone, I don't know how I missed your comment. But I did. We're in the Moline IL area. But I don't think I could do this again. In fact, not long after Paul, Earl and I completed this, I had a tree fall on the camper and destroyed all of our work. I just got the damage repaired by professionals. Here's a link to a playlist of the entire saga, if you're interested. kzbin.info/aero/PLQmsqJYQfZ2kuTkMgjxaxzpCmtSaMPo1N I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Thank you for your interest and I hope you follow us on our upcoming RV road trip. It should be a good one. I hope to see you on the road, but until then ... Happy and safe Trails.

I'm really not sure. It was a long time ago, but less than $300 all in including paid labor.

Too funny, Geezer. Your brother-in-law is a dead-ringer for William Smith (www.imdb.com/title/tt0080377/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_86), who has played many a tough-guy role.
