Holy crap Tim. That is exactly how I grew up. My dad hauled palm trees from south Florida to Texas and planted them. Without my brothers and me helping and driving and working on equipment we would have starved to death. I wouldn’t change a single thing because it made us the men we are today. You sir are real America and I’m so glad to see we have people teaching their kids the right way to live. God bless you and your family my friend❤️👍

The way your teaching your son hands on is really the best way. And he is not to young to learn as you are showing him. This will make him a better more responsible driver. And he will be prepared for things that can happen. People who think it is wrong need to understand that this is a good thing.Farmers have kids driving large tractors and other farm equipment at this age. And it makes them better farmers when they are adults. Good job

Hey Tim, Here is something for you to try instead of feeding a truck ether starting fluid. Try using just plain old WD40. I think you will find out it works as well and isn't near as hard on the engine. The only time I'd go with ether is when it gets below 40 degrees.
@jeffreykbevins71162 жыл бұрын
I have used WD40 different times over the years to start gas and diesel engines . It lubricates as it starts the motor, instead of a dry start .

Tim, speaking from the standpoint of a farm kid who like all the rest of us started to drive trucks and tractors at 6-7 yrs old. Our dads fixed the seats so we could reach the pedals. My dad took a gunny sack, filled it with straw and I used it behind me. You need to do the same kind of thing with Braxton.

Seeing that old cab over on the road like that really brought back some memories of riding with my Dad and my Uncle. My uncle had a KW cab over and we really thought it was something with air windows going down the road listening to Dave Nemo on WWL out of New Orleans back in the mid to late 1970's . We'd leave Montgomery AL going to Gulfport MS to the banana docks down there 4 times a week. Brother, thank you so much for the memories you brought back. I hadn't thought of all that in a long time. I sure wish I lived up that way so I could work with you. I like what you're doing and the way you treat your people. Again, really enjoyed this video. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.

I use to drive a C70 size GMC dump truck once in a while for the company that I worked for and then they sold it to one of their truck drivers and then he sold the truck to another man . He took the hood off of the truck and cut the fenders off up high and took the front end up an over hood off of a school bus and made the dump truck have a hood and front end like a big semi truck hood front end . Which made it a lot easier to work on the motor or anything under the hood much easier on the GMC dump truck . If your going to keep this dump truck you might want to consider doing the same thing to that dump truck, changing the hood - front end out, cause you can see those old Chevy school buses setting around places and at junk yards .

The best part of this is actually the father and the son relationship. I learned how to drive a truck at about the same age but my family was also not at all involved in trucking. I was actually taught by a completely different family and one who I used to load and to unload trailer for in the summer months. I we would make two trips to San Francisco a day hauling cow hides typically headed to Japan for use. I would get paid 5 dollars to help to load and to unload each at a pier right next to Grotto #9 and on the warf. Abit over a 100 miles each way and I absolutely loved doing it at the time and it was all very damned hard work. Especially it they were Bull Hides and about 150 pounds each I also wasn't given any slack and I had to earn my keep.

So from what I remember from the last videos was him talking about is that the cabover has a super 10 which is a 10 speed transmission, not the best transmission but easy to learn on. It's a 5 speed H pattern shifter but every gear has 2 gears in it. Reverse(hi low)-3rd/4th-7th/8th | / | / | 1st/2nd-5th/6th-9th/10th
