My aunt and cousins lived in Cabrini in the 80s. Mom and I visited them on many occasions before they moved to California. The younger kids ages 6 to 14 from there were so mature and hardened for their age and most of them was focused on hustling and making money just to get snacks and something to eat. Things I for sure took for granted. The first Bucket Boys out of Chicago that used to play downtown were from Cabrini. Children grew up fast in Cabrini.

People forget that we have such a huge Latin community as well. Latin Kings literally started here lol. If anybody doesn’t know the street gangs fall into two categories. At least they did now it’s more of cliques but it’s either Folks or people. You have the black gangs GD, BD, Stones, Vice Lords, 4CH, Breeds and Souls. Then Latin gangs are Kings, MLDs (Maniac Latin Disciples), SDs (Satan Disciples), Two Six, Deuces, Cobras, Counts, Popes and Ambrose. Not to mention the Outlaw Motorcycle clubs, Chicago Outfit, white gangs like some AB, Gaylords (yes it’s a real gang) and then the cartel. Chicago is a huge hub for the Sinaloa cartel. The twins who testified against El Chapo were from here. The Flores twins. Little Village, Pilsen and Humboldt Park have them in it. Lots of people blame the violence in this city on the projects being torn down. The Ickes, Cabrini Green, and others. One building would be say a GD controlled building and it gets torn down and they get scattered into BD territory or Stones territory.

That’s actually made it worse you used have gangs just in certain areas just like drugs was in certain areas you tore down the projects and thats spread everything out now you stay next door to your enemy or other drug dealers stepping in on your money

Too many blood vendettas. Once you kill someone’s friends and family, the war will never stop. Not just in Chicago, everywhere. A truce might work for a while but it will always fall apart in the end.
@Cardb332 жыл бұрын
Like Mobfax said, when you kill someone, that person always has loved ones, friends and family that might be willing to pick up a gun to avenge them. The person who they kill to avenge has the same thing. Next thing you know everyone is dead and there's still people on both sides unsatisfied wanting revenge. Even if they wanted to the leaders could make peace but there's always someone who will re-ignite it.
