Why is the commentator convinced every shot hits the pipe when it was clearly a save

8:30 first Dodge funneled down the alley...Pass pass dodge... Second dodge gets beat topside. Notice at 8:39 the 1 slide is prepared for alley dodge. Being beat topside puts the slide man at a disadvantage. 12:02 #16 ha no pistol grip. because he is ball-watching he loses his guy. Let's skip pass happen and gives an open lane for wind-up shot. 14:00 They found the weak spot. Same play as the first goal. Pass pass dodge. #16 gives up topside. Goalie bails him out... that's what great goalies are for! 16:36 Best defense I've seen in this game. 25 keeps him down the alley. Pushes through the pick and doesn't switch. 42 knows this guy is a righty, must have studied the scout. Closes the gate, refuses him topside. 9 slides to body. 18:30 Kept down the alley no angle shot. 20:12 number 27 gets beat but recovers to the hole finds a new player to guard and steps in the way of shot. well done. I am a casual sort of fan of lacrosse, but mostly I have been watching the NLL indoor game. I understand about the midfield line and the goal crease, but what are the other lines on the field for?

Now they only come into play during the face-off, the two perpendicular lines are where the wing players must start behind. The box on both sides of the field are for the offensive and defensive players. Basically the attack and defensive players must stay in that box before possession is gained on the face-off. Pretty sure that covers it, I play and coach both types of lacrosse so feel free to send any other questions. I do not claim to know it all, but I know a good amount. Cheers!
