I have CachyOS installed on an extra SSD but still run Fedora as a daily driver. I've been thinking about making Cachy my daily driver. I have several distros on different SSDs. I've had problems with dual and multi booting setups so I got a SATA power switch module for $15 and just press the button to power the SSD with the OS I want to boot from - avoids all dual/ multi boot issues. I leave a shared storage drive powered on all the time to make it easy to add personal files to whatever OS I'm in at the moment.

I wonder if there is a separate conf file for lightdm when run as root. Might try looking at the exact process name when running it as "regular" and then as root to see if the process names are the same. If it is different as root try searching for that exact name conf file. I have no idea if this is the case but it would be quick and easy to check. I use BTop++ to check processes.

You've been watching EB to much Slim🤪 MX Xfce is fast too. Everything opens instantly when I click on it. So no reason for me to wipe it off.

Same here Johan. I'll stick with what I know over some new flash-in-the-pan distro any day of the week. My main rig has just celebrated its first year on MX without so much as a stutter. I wonder how long Cachy will last before users see something else with a pretty face and (allegedly) faster feet and move on? ...Shall we start the timer? ;)
