Part 2 of my cacti and succulent collection tour for summer 2023. We'll be going through all the plants that live indoors all year round. As there's a lot of plants to go through, these videos will likely be in 3 or 4 separate parts. Enjoy! :)

I watched yesterday, but realised I didn't comment... Excellent video and beautiful selection of plants, that colourful Gymnocalycium with red and green fruit pods looks amazing! Some of the little pots look tiny when you hold them, it gives a good sense of scale when handling each plant in turn. It's amazing how Lophophora will outgrow any bad patches, mine had rim damage several years ago when I bought it that way, now though you would never even know it was there, they recover so well, it's still my favourite one in my collection. Enjoyed seeing your indoor collection, look forward to the next one! 😊⭐️🌵👍🏻 Let's hope the summer will return for the benefit of our plants too.

Thank you so much, Claire 😊 Yeah the two different coloured seed pods look awesome! Maybe some of the plants look tiny because my hands are big? 😅 Yeah the Lophs do recover well thankfully. Hope the weather does improve, July has been pretty awful but I don’t want 40c in August either lol. Thank you for watching and commenting as always, Claire. Have a wonderful day and upcoming weekend from from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌸🌺🌼🏜

Outstanding video Daz! I love them all! Two Gymnocalyciums really caught my attention. I think it was the first Gymno you showed. It was reddish purple in color. I really love that one and the other was the one with two different color seed pods on top. Just adorable. Please don't get me wrong, all the cacti are absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing! I know you and Edith are not in the same location but I always want to send you both good wishes! Sending you and Edith peace, love and happiness for a great evening my friend!

Really loved the tour!! Awesome beauty!!! The " meloformis, I believe you are right . A hybrid. meloformis X susannae sounds right. Yes the spider mites have been bad on my lophos. I keep fighting them. Even lifted one so nothing could get to it. We'll see. Thanks for sharing Daz!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, have a wonderful weekend ahead!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌️💖🌵🌿🌻🍀🌴🌸🪴🌾💐🌱🌷🌹😃👍

Thank you so much, Clyde 😊 Yeah that Euphorbia I think is a hybrid of those two. Spider mites have been pretty bad here this year. Always amazes me how something so small can be so destructive. @@Cactimania Yeah, and we also have the human version of spidermites CHIGGERS!! They are tiny mites just like spidermites. If you get into the tall grass or brush, or into the woods without spray repellent, you are toast!! About two weeks ago I was clearing a very thick area below the park. I only sprayed my pants for ticks, we have those here too. Forgot my shirt. By that evening I had 35 welts where they bit me. Had to wash down with alcohol, but the venom was already in. Painful burning sharp pain & itch!!! Haven't had them in a couple of years. What a wake up!!! It let's you know how your poor plants feel when they get them!!!"AHHHHHG!!!

Thank you so much, Lyn 😊 Haha yeah if I keep adding plants it’ll be in 10 parts in the future 😅 Speaking of, I did have a new one arrive today, said to be one of the most vicious cacti because of the spines it has. You said you were waiting on some deeper pots. I have difficulty finding deep pots for Haworthia with long roots here in the US. Do you have a brand you count on or just what you can find at the moment of need? There are some plastic pots called Wanxiang (I can only assume that is a manufacturer's name) that are quite sturdy and well proportioned for Haworthia. But they're rather pricey and often out of stock. What's your experience in the UK?
@Cactimania
@Cactimania Жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s difficult to find decent square pots here, especially deep ones. Edith manages to get me the best ones that are perfect for certain Haworthia and cacti with long tap roots, but they’re usually ones that originally come from Thailand. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌸🌼🏜

Tephoros are just weird plants. Mine never set root and almost died forcing me to graft (grafting extremely dehydrated plants rnt easy) But as soon as it took. Within a week it sets off a new ball. And that balls growing really fast now.. I think evolution kinda turned the wrong way with them? Seems like the root system is just awfully inefficent at supporting the plant? If you see nature pics of them they always look dehydrated. Probs only sets a ball a year when it rains and then goes full dormant again 😂😂 not to mention if you dont water them when needed they tend to grow very ugly or produce ugly scales on the outer skin
@Cactimania
@Cactimania Жыл бұрын
Yeah they can be weird plants. Although the ones I have in the greenhouse are doing great. I’ll probably put the ones I have indoors in there next year, see how better they do. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
