As someone who ordered the LE, none of this bothers me. I felt CGC was very clear going into my pre-order that they were considering creating more toppers. Mainly because I was in the audience when the revealed the price and in the same event explicitly said they were still talking about making more toppers for SE owners. There was no bait and switch, they said this before they even gave distributors their allocations, the main problem was that people interpreted the wording on their site to mean that the LE would have the topper exclusively. The wording was too ambiguous. I felt the upgrades from the SE to the LE were worth the $1250 up charge. The tracks, side blades, topper, cart, shaker motor, apron, and powdered coated parts are worth that in my eyes. The LE just looks amazing all around. If I were to go out and buy all those as mods myself. I'd be spending much more money. I could care less about the 'limited' aspect of the game. As the other manufacturers have shown, limited edition doesn't mean anything in pinball. I viewed it as an upgraded version, and I think the value is there to warrant the upgrade. I'm also happy people who really wanted toppers now have a way to get them now without feeding the flippers. I view it as a win/win.

The LE is more than a topper. shaker included, topper, side blades mine tracks/train tracks mine cart, wooden apron, plaque, double the warranty. The SE+ people are paying the same amount for just a topper. There is a ton of value included on the LE.

Sure is and it will be the one people want in the future....just like other companies le versions... not much difference between most le and the level below and most things can be available aftermarket that's similar/better than the le stuff. Even so most le pins are the ones that are sought after and people will pay up to get them.

Regarding the LE situation. All of the pinball companies should sell as many LE’s as they can for a day. Then everybody who wants an LE gets one and the pinball companies make as much money as possible and the game would still be limited to the number of games sold that day. This way everybody wins.

I still want to know what they are gonna do with this new code set.. is it gonna be more money? Should the LE owners have a special challenge mode or difference in the code to separate it from the SE? Should LE owners get the code for free or a reduced cost? How much is it?.... Could this be a redeeming factor for LE owners?.. still allot to unpack with this release

It'll cost more money. That much they've said. They also said ot will likely come with additional hardware, potentially a new mechanism, probably as a DRM measure. I don't see why LE owners should get a discount, it would make selling the product much more difficult.

The Limited Edition does have several extra special things including the cool etched wood arch even though the extras to me are not worth the added cost, so there should not be much whining because it seems fair to me since the LE buyers got the better deal because they get the LE status AND all the extras for the SAME price difference as the other people pay for the SE+ which only adds the topper. I was on the fence for the LE at 1250 more, and decided to get it, but it sold out in seconds, however I personally can't see paying 1250 extra JUST for the topper ...although it is the coolest topper because it's so interactive. Wish there was a clear video showing the mini mode where you shoot the people in the buildings without hitting the innocent bystanders as I cant tell if it is really fun and/or challenging.

It seems what the LE owners got was a lower price tag and "the real McCoy". Cary, here is a little project that would make a good video.>> Turn your SE into an LE. Log the time and money it would take. I wonder if you could get the same price in the future for a DIY SE to LE conversion vs "The Real McCOY". ... and how identical could you make it? People have been known to take a Buick Regal and transform it into a Grand National ... but it doesn't make it a Grand National. In the year 2122, a dude is going to be on PBS's "ANTIQUES ROADSHOW" and be told by some old dude that his pinball machine isn't worth as much as he had thought because it is a knock off ... kinda. Unfortunately we'll all be dead by the time that episode airs.

As a AFMr LE owner (#805) the topper was the thing that made it attractive for me to spend the extra money on that pin. If they ever were to have the topper available separately I would be really pissed off as the CCr LE owners are now. I also own a WOZEC LE serial number 004 for those 1% out there...LOL Cary, is your Judd Dredd still available and will you deliver for free?

The manufacturers could launch a single version. LE level finishing to all. As in the 90s. It avoids lots of disapointment as most of us are ever able to buy LEs cause they sold out in minutes or sometimes sold out before we can ever know theu launch the title. Or sell 5k LEs as Guns N Roses so everbody with money can buy yours w/o need to buy from a distributor and pay more than announced.

This is why I stick with Stern. Chicago’s marketing is a dumpster fire. Remember when everyone crucified Stern for charging 1K for the Elvira topper? Now Chicago is going to charge 1200 for this topper👍🏻 I want the same crybabies that whined about the cost of the Elvira topper to now bash Chicago for raping people for 1200 for this lame ass topper. but you know what? they won’t say anything because they just hate stern for reasons known to no one. SMH.

I have an order in for an EHOH since the beginning of the year. They were supposed to make them in the middle of the year but kept pushing back the build date due to lack of chips to build it. They've now pushed it back to 2022 and are charging me an additional $1600 as part of their yearly upcharge for it since they didn't get around to making it in 2021. The kicker is they announced a whole new LE version of EHOH, the 40th anniversary, that they magically have the chips to make this year and are making in December. You know, the game they don't have the parts for... it's almost like they intentionally created the new model just to screw over the people waiting so that those will be made next year. Let's not even talk about how they screwed over the other LE and CE owners by just making a new Limited edition. Stern pulls this crap all the time. They make great games but are a garbage company. As someone who has the CCR LE on order, I was pleased with the decision they made. The worst part was the ambiguous marketing. As a side note, the CCR topper is much cooler than the EHOH topper.

@@explosiveegg3920 Stern has always done that when they re-run a game. The best time to buy it is the first time they run it. I got my Elvira during the first run because I did not want to have to wait. Trust me I’m with you on the waiting part. I have three games on order with them right now two of them since last March. I ordered a Godzilla premium right at announcement. They built special Godzilla premiums just for the expo. Does it annoy me that they built games just for the expo while I’m still waiting for mine? Sure. Good luck with your cactus canyon. I had an attack from Mars remake and I had nothing but problems with it. Three replacement boards and 1 million customer service calls I had enough and dumped it. I will never buy another Chicago game.

@@cigarsandpins4781 I didn't expect to like EHOH as much as I did. Hence, the late order. Stern seems to also put out a lot of unfinished games. From my understanding EHOH wasn't half the game it is until the code got finished. I've been playing Godzilla on location too, been enjoying it, but that game crashes all the time. Which may just be software. I don't like the idea of buying unfinished games before you can even play them. I can't speak on the reliability of the two though as those will be my first NIB games and neither has shipped yet.

But it’s not fair to compare Chicago’s games to a new Stern when it’s first released. Those remake games have been out for 25 years of course the code is finished. Sterns games are constantly evolving

@Steve H Glad to hear it! Hearing those stories makes me happy. It seems to be a case-by-case thing. People complain about node boards with Stern but I’ve had dozens of spike games and only had one bad node board. I guess it’s just a hit or miss thing

The difference between a Stern Prem. and Stern LE is way less than the difference between the two CCr versions. And I think that apron on the LE plus the extra sculpts is still enough of a differentiator between the 2 CGC versions, plus the sideart and powdercoating. If you want to buy the topper, add a custom Apron, side-art, powdercoat, and attempt to mod-in the missing sculpts you are into that machine for over 10 grand, and a whole lot of time. The LE owners should all be happy that they got such a great deal compared to everyone else.

Sorry, I disagree with you Cary. You can 3D print all you want, but a SE+ will never be an LE and the value will definitely not be that of an LE. I have an MM with the royal treatment, it’s identical in every way to a Royal Edition.. The only thing I’m missing is the sword plate with an LE number and because of that the value is upwards of 10k more for a Royal. That will be the same with CC LE’s. In 3 years an LE will be valued 5-10k more then an SE+. So the LE buyers will have something special in the end. I’m in on a SE+. It is a bummer I’m paying the same for a LE.

I wasn't able to get in on an LE because it wasn't until I played CCr at Expo that I decided I wanted one. I sat on the fence about getting the SE until they made the topper available. People thought the $1000 price tag for the EHoH topper was crazy. Now we're paying $1250 for this topper. Kudos to CGC for trying to make their customers happy.

Oh I’m very happy!! So happy that I was able to get such an awesome pin. Grateful that there is a company that can make such awesome remakes!! However I do understand the excitement of being a collector of anything, not just pins. Collecting rare and special items is a hobby in itself. The LE buyers bought a limited edition , special collectors item hence the numbered plaques. Quit blaming them for expecting to get just that. It’s not about others getting to enjoy the topper, people trying to minimize the whole issue here. And that issue is its a special limited edition. And just like this video says now anyone can replicate the LE. How you can’t understand this is beyond me. But yes, will I love my pin? Sure will, I love all pins. But wish people like you would recognize the issue here.

Like I said that isn’t the issue. Please don’t make the people who were lucky enough to get an LE sound like uncaring, greedy asses, they have their reasons for choosing a limited edition and like the video says the topper was the one thing that set it apart as a special collectors pin. Just like AFM. It’s the topper that set the LE apart. This is my first LE and I’m sooooo excited. My favorite pins are Bally/Williams and when I saw this remake I had to try and get it. I won’t be selling mine. Anyway we are all on the same side as a unique community, at least I hope we are. PINBALL ROCKS!!!!!!!!

You seem like a nice guy, but I have to suggest yourself and others are losing sight of why many people got into the hobby in the first place, and that was just to have fun together playing pinball. What I see/hear now is a lot of people caught up in the collectibles part of it and while I respect you have your own opinion on it, it saddens me to see people so caught up in the "I need something other people don't have" aspect of it.
