Dr. Terry is a cool guy, and I always enjoyed attending his talks at research meetings. Also, I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to see that you started hanging out with Michael Eason! He is a great guy, and i greatly appreciate the work he does. When I first discovered your channel I thought it would be cool if the two of you got together to botanize. It does not enhance music. I agree, it is better to do mescaline. in pills if you can find it and know for certain it is real. Better know an organic chemist who makes it from gallic acid. I'd love to come see this place before and after a rain. I live in rural Georgia, and that first spring downpour is magical. The day before everything is so dead and dormant, it's a landscape of brown and grey, except for our pines. Loved the video, thanks to your videos on botanics and geology i have a much better understanding of the cacti i grow. I don't consider myself a collector because collectors want to collect and have things to brag of and many times don't care if a plant is poached. Aside from cacti i also love caudex and poaching there is horrible, everything is poached and no one wants to have small caudex only big individuals extracted from nature for example what's happening with Stephania species. P.s: loved the rain at the end of the video, it gave me a good vibe thinking how much all those species needed the water
@doylesaylor2 жыл бұрын
For a change Tony is varying the videos with stills. Which in terms of production values is a step up. The nice thing about the videos is Tony handling the plants to see distinguishing features. It’s more difficult in stills to find visually plant features for identification. Yet stills offer more clarity about features. This is a conundrum of photography about knowing what’s there. It’s interesting to watch Tony struggle with self expression. The key element of features is how Tony names them. That naming can be very ambiguous in what is what in a photo. Sometimes clarified by drawing lines from words to feature. Never the less humans don’t need such things to know features in the real world. So this struggle for self expression is really exploring what seeing does in the real world.

Yes! Too many people selfishly insist on consumption of peyote that they don't know or care how it was harvested, when Peruvian Torch or San Pedro cuttings can easily be found online without harm to an endangered historically significant plant.
@MrEiht2 жыл бұрын
@@WinterReflections I never ate a Peyotle. For exactly that reason I tried Peruvian Torch. I cut back the plants properly so they can regrow. And still have them. After +20 years. I am too old to take a mescalin journey now plus there is no need too. I just love plants and since it is not illegal to have them in Europe, I take good care of them. Better than mother nature :)

If you harvest peyote correctly it grows back double mass with several new heads in relatively short amount of time. Ive been growing them for 16 years in pots, in a very natural neglected kind of way. And i have cut a few down just to make en pup several new heads. Within a growing season or two depending on how old and big root it has its bigger in mass than it was when harvested. This is how the tribes harves their peyote, never killing the plant. I never tried it either even if i wanted to i probably have to eat my whole collection and still not feeling anything. As ive seen countless reports that their alkaloid content is very low in homegrown plant. Wouldbe nice to see if theres a difference in mine one day as ive "neglected" them trying to immitate natural growing conditions. Im keeping theese plants till i die! They are the start of my whole Journey in gardening and plants in general. And still theres no plant i love the most. I had a couple of rough periods in my life and theese plants surviced 2years without watering or anything. I havent repotted them in all this time either. Sure there are growers growing them really fast but they dont look right to me.
