People die...the rest of us carry on as well as we can. It was my HONOR to facilitate the reunion in my studio and travel the world with my heroes. Tim is my all time favorite bassist...You want them to retire? You need a "band name" or you can't tour....our 3 reunion albums were VERY well received. ...yet, I'd rather have had Tim & Rusty...it wasn't an option.
@drj6026 ай бұрын
@@fenderbass3847 From what I gather, Tim went through a “period” of being not do easy to get along with and a change of ways at some point. Nevertheless, one of the absolute greatest of them all; without question. And of course you get into the period of the technical virtuosos. BUT that still doesn’t make them… any of them as good as TIM.

He retired in 2008, and Pete Bremy filled in for him after that. Tim passed away just this past January, the first Cactus member we’ve lost since June 3rd 1982 (Rusty Day). Rock in Peace, Tim & Rusty. UPDATE: We lost ANOTHER member of Cactus back in September, albeit one who was only in the original band for a little while: guitarist Ronnie Leejack. He played slide on Restrictions and Token Chokin, And is in the entire Fully Unleashed Volume 2 album. He started Wicked Lester after his time in Cactus. Wicked Lester eventually evolved into the band we know today as Kiss.
@heathinvaderstudios3 жыл бұрын
Rusty had his own Cactus band from 1976 to around 1980 or so, and that featured John Sauter (from Ted Nugent’s Weekend Warriors album) on bass. When John left, Rusty hired their soundman, Monte “Mondo” Thomas, to become the new bass player for his Cactus incarnation. Mondo stayed in it until the end of that Cactus incarnation’s time. A VERY tiny number of bootlegs of Rusty Day’s Cactus with John Sauter on bass have circulated over the years. Also in the band were Steve Dansby on guitar and Frankie Robbins (later replaced by .38 Special’s Gary Moffatt) on drums.

He always was into Motorcycles, i think he crashed once and was hospitalized, which put off the 1st Cactus reunion tour back in 2007. R.i.P. Rusty.

+Denny Mcfastlane i was in many bands in the 70's and 80's and we always played cactus tunes. I was also a shovelhead chopper rider. All that is behind me now, except i still write and play my gitter and have been influenced by those bros. Yes RIP Rusty.

+pleximars Lots in common Plexi, was in many bands also in the 60'-70's. Now i just play alone mostly. Never gave up the Motorcycles tho'. I know Jimmy and see him play mostly at lounges around and in Detroit. He just sat in with Motown fUnK guitarist Dennis Coffey. *Rusty was a very cool dude, a rotten shame him and his son were murdered! C'ya.
