Numbers are real, automobiles are not. Automobiles are mere reflections of a variety of higher forms, just as my material body is merely a shadow of my true, 'platonic' body. Strange that someone who claims to be a Christian challenges Platonism, Platonism is the philosophical foundation of Christianity; you can't speak of concepts like the Trinity, the Divine Essence, or the Divine Energies without the language of Platonism. Not only is creation the emanation of the various forms from the One, but even the Logos is the Divine Reason begotten of the One not by choice but by necessity and thus the Son is homoousios with the Father. Professor Craig would do well to read less post-Enlightenment philosophy and more Origen, St. Gregory of Nyssa, or, for that matter, the Gospel of John. Or did I misunderstand, is he an atheist trying to attack the foundations of Christian thought? If so, he should at least read Kurt Godel. He does not seem to be able to move beyond first order logic or contemplate the nature of the infinite.

I do believe he differentiates between Platonism and Christian “platonism” calling it a philosophy of Divine Conceptualism in other presentations.
