For the tank levels if you're low health you can face the wall and shoot yourself to take minimal damage to avoid a killing enemy blow or mine explosion. Also for co op on the story, your trophy count is shared with player 2, as is the 2 computer opponents. For crash ball and pogo levels your scored are added together for trophy's and subtracted together for gem challenges, so you need a partner that's really good and won't hold you back. But yeah, I had really good memories of the game as a child, but now looking at it, it's nostalgia. There's a lot of grind and bs mechanics. Enjoying the streams though. Thank you Caddy

Dying at the fact that cortex killed himself twice in those crate throwing games with the penguin. Once by hurting himself with a box and again by walking right up to the penguin and shooting it then laughing as it spins and kills him. On top of that being how caddy won that round with only 3 seconds left. The random stupidity of this game's ai is amazing and god awful.

Speaking of Rila-Roo and CTR. The hillarious thing is that they also added a FIXED version where his Face doesn't look like as much of an abomination as the rest of him. I mean it doesn't make him likeable, but it's like what they did with the Sonic movie, first appearance looked like nightmare fuel, then they fixed it.

I totally agree with Caddy's assessment of Crash 4. It's a fantastic return to form for the bandicoot, but didn't learn that less sometimes equals more. I found the extra challenges tedious and gratuitous. I mean, I appreciate that I guess they were trying to give you more "bang for your buck", but they went a bit overboard with things. I love to complete platformers 100%, but I just couldn't be bothered in Crash 4. The levels just dragged on way too long and some of the box placement was downright absurd. Had the levels been broken up into smaller levels (with less boxes to find) and only required a box gem, I may have been more inclined to fully complete the game.

Yeah Crash 4's 100% requirements are ridiculous. Its like "Get all the boxes, now don't die once, now do both get all the boxes and not die once, now do it while dashing as fast as possible, now do it reversed with a filter" Even Crash Bash at least adds unique challenges or handicaps to the levels for the extra challenges. I think Crash 3 Warped was the last one that got the mix between fun and challenge just right to make it worth 100%

@@Flip_91FTW Yeah, too true, man. A lot of Crash 4's challenges seemed pretty arbitrary. Oh, Crash 3 definitely did things right. Though, I'd even argue Crash: Wrath of Cortex was the last Crash platformer to do 100% right. Sure it isn't the best Crash game, but the challenges were actually reasonable. It was on par with Crash 3 in terms of difficulty. I think the thing with classic Crash levels is they never really overstayed their welcome. You could beat one comfortably in a few minutes.

Crash Twinsanity and the gba games are fun to 100% as well, especially since they are short. Twinsanity also did the "long level" completion requirements better as well by having them hidden around in the level instead breaking boxes.

@@bandicootsmwcentral2950 Yeah, Twinsanity was pretty decent (and also probably the weirdest Crash game). I completely forgot about the GBA games. I actually beat those 100% as well. They were surprisingly good for handheld Crash games at the time (well, the exception being Crash Purple...that game was terrible). Even Crash Nitro Kart on the GBA was actually decent as well.

I think this game does indeed share some of similarities to Crash 4 in that they give you too much to do and it is challenging, but not particularly fun to play. That and the AI just straight up wants to completely *_ruin_* you as you go further into the game!

Difference is that Bash is a multiplayer focus game that contains competitiveness so it's allowed to be a challenging as it wants, CB4 is an adventure game that's meant to be much less competitive and more chill & enjoyable, but the fact that it's as hard as Bash with too much to do with too much challenge makes it worse in that regard. At least in Bash you can unlock new games with the collectibles.

@@MSCLeap75 I mean, to each his own, but Crash Bash just was some downright unfair challenges where the AI just essentially will bully you and get some ridiculous luck in single player. Multiplayer is fine since you're on equal footing with your opponents. Stripping away all of that, though, the game is merely an average party game at best. Most of the mini-games are slight variations on each other and some of them just aren't very fun. It is basically a weaker version of Mario Party.

It's funny because when he was talking about Crash 4's difficulty, he mentioned it was rated a 12 by PEGI and stated it was designed for older audiences. But here in 'murica, it has the same ESRB rating as Super Mario Odyssey, The N. Sane Trilogy, and SpongeBob Battle For Bikini Bottom. The ESRB is a joke.

There is a trick most people don't know of that makes the Ball stages super easy, although kinda slow. When I played this back on PS2, my third party controller had this turbo button to pause the game, so it is constantly pausing and unpausing. For some reason if you enable that, the AI just breaks and you can easily defend your goal. On my first playthrough, that's how I got the N.Ballism crystal. I eventually beat it legit but yeah for those struggling, that's how you do it.

For anyone who doesn't know, if you're using OBS then audio sync issues are often fixed by disabling then re-enabling the video input for the capture device (Elgato, AverMedia, etc). You shouldn't need to unplug/reconnect.

I think this game could at least be more tolerable tbh if the game was remastered and heavily tweaked. More games opposed to variations of the same ones, speed up the slower games, make games only round, nerf ai, and I think it could be at the very least ok

@@deepseaape Its been pretty obvious from the get-go that he went into this game already hating it and has just been ranting whenever he loses. 'Hard' doesnt equal 'bad design'. But even when he does have 'critiques', a lot of the time theyre kinda just wrong, or rather mis-informed. Like when he complains that the battle stages are nigh impossible as other character types because they pick up and throw boxes really badly. When in actuality if you play as Crash etc, spinning allows you to move around while attacking and send multiple boxes flying at a time. It makes it super easy.
