One of my favorite gift opening videos! I can't really explain why, other than the spirit of you all together was so cheerful, grateful.... But that's nothing new, you're all always like that 🤷♀️🤷♀️ anywho I loved watching and look forward to the advent ones!

Early in the year, I thought the gifts were less-than-compelling. But Cadeaux has brought a level of charm for the viewer that is remarkably enjoyable. Each household member is relaxed and each personality is showcased. Nati is like the Maitre d'hotel, Philip snorts gently every few minutes, Selmar laughs at everything, and Stephanie shows genuine enthusiasm and joy at every single gift and giver. It is no wonder you have such a loyal following.

Stephanie, what you could do with your beautiful journal, is use it as a "guest" book, put it in the bedrooms where the guests have a minute or two to sit and write down their adventures at La Lande, then you can go back and read it and store your journals in the library-who knows you may get a very famous person who's signature is worth thousands of dollars in 20 years from now~

I love watching all of you, and the kitchen squirrel was so awesome. I haven’t laughed so hard for a while and today I needed it as I got a call that my mum was not doing good at all. She has been in a nursing home for a year and she got COVID and it has taken its toll. She lives an hour away from me. My daughter and I are being allowed to go see her, I’m so glad the nursing home is doing this. It would have broken my heart if she had to pass alone. I’m really sorry for my sadness but you and your 3 companions have made a sad day a much easier one. Thank you, all of you.

I’m glad they did that as mum has gotten so weak that she is unable to move around but mum has a strong will and determination, she almost fell today, one of the nurses caught her before she hit the floor. She is 94 and has had a good life, she’s tired and I believe she is ready. I just need to wrap my head around losing her.

The purple lilac flowers on the tea towel look like ‘ Foxglove ‘ ( Digitalis or Gloxiniaeflora flowers?) Similar to recording significant moments in a ‘Baby Book’...although for my children when they were quite young - I too recorded their cutest phrases and explanations......recently my now 18 yr old daughter found her ‘ Baby Book ‘ with the recorded phrases she used to so sweetly say - and she was in absolute Hysterics reading them all! Love watching the gift videos! So many thoughtful people around the world. I love the stays on you, but you have to wear a chemise under it! Despite what Hollywood wants you to believe, you don't wear the stays against your bare skin. They're too hard to wash! Wear the linen (or silk, if you prefer) against your skin that can absorb the sweat and oils from your skin and be washed.

I think the next room you do should be a proper library for LaLande. Especially since you have received so many wonderful books, plates, and pieces of art this year. You need to start cataloguing them so you have an inventory of them all. Maybe Selmar would make some lovely LaLande bookcases and a library table. Once you decide which room to use, of course.

I came in 3/4 through so had to go back to the start.... more wonderful presents! The round blue and white paper mats can indeed be made into fabulous placemats and Selmar is the man for the job. Cork for the backs and some special paint finishes, I will email Nati with the method my sister used to turn recycled old placemats into totally new ones using a thin layer of printed paper napkins. As a retired Fashion Designer, I was most impressed with the beautiful corset Lynn made, very professional! I had books on pattern cutting, some on historical costume, I would have sent to Stephanie but I had already passed them on several years ago to a young fashion student, now working in theatre and TV, so they found a good home. But.. I do see one of the historical costume books on the bottom shelf of the bookcase in The Christmas Diaries! Love from Sydney...💗🦘

I highly recommend a visit to Poland, I especially loved the countryside in the south east. It's a beautiful country full of history and, the people are very kind, welcoming and funny. They are quite direct (which I like as what you see is what you get) but unfortunately some visitors to the country misinterpret this as rudeness which is absolutely not the case. WARNING: They love to feed their guests A LOT and the food is delicious so bring clothes with elasticated waistbands 😄 Amazing gifts, I love the thought that goes into the choosing of each item to suit the personality of the lucky recipient. The squirrel painting is beautiful and has a great sense of fun and character about it.

Just a tip from a fashion history nerd, to protect the beautiful stays, always wear a chemise or chemisette underneath. (A vest/tank works just as well, but doesn't give you the beautiful puffy ruffles of white, which btw was a sign of wealth - the more white fine fabric you could afford, the higher your socioeconomic standing - and people wanted those puffs and ruffles to show!) Corsets and bodies or stays were never meant to be worn next to the skin and aren't usually made to be washable (dry-cleaning works or for a quick fix - spray with alcohol) so a layer of cotton, linen or even silk was worn underneath. It also protects the wearer, making it softer and nicer to wear. I hope to see more historical dress at Lalande and I love how wonderfully the renaissance era suits you, Stephanie! If you ever did a colab with American Dutchess I would just die of excitement! 😍😁 Your videos always make me smile and gasp and marvel at all the beauty (both visual and spiritual) that you show and receive. Thank you 💝

Hello, I actually follow American Duchess. When I saw the print at JoAnn’s (US Fabric store) I knew just what I wanted to make with it despite it being polyester. I specifically wanted her to know the fabric information so she knows how to clean it; & yes, the lining is cotton. I wish I could claim the stays/corset as my own design, but it is actually a simplicity sewing pattern colab. with the American Duchess. I went for the bigger size and I’m just glad they fit you Stephanie! I was contemplating about a chemise to include too, but I remember you made a cotton chemise-looking lounge wear as a project with Michael Patheric as he supposedly made his own robe as well! I’m just happy to see you wear them! I also follow Priorattire and she makes all of her costumes and sells them too. She’s very historical with her projects. I had made more stays after that! 🥰❤️❤️❤️

I love that the gifts received open up my world to other places and other people's creativity. I visit websites and mark them for visiting later. The first thing we built at our abandoned lakefront cabin was the dock, so that we could come and go in the boat. We undertook construction before consulting the “ elder and wiser “ neighbours. In perpetuity my husband id now “ Dock Allen” and I am “ she who walks on water” .. due to the high water level rising above the dock!

Nati looks so beautiful as usual. Stephan is also looking great. Love her hair pulled back.
