@Circuit Analysis 1 thing that you didnt mention is datasheets. You can have a datasheet property attached to the components property wirh a file name such as "D:\Cadence\CIP-E\tech_docs\on semiconductor\1n4148.pdf" and there is a tcl script so you can right click on the component in capture and it will display the datasheet also the same thing will happen when you export the pdf. Thought you would like that tip
@CircuitAnalysis3 жыл бұрын
Ah that's awesome. I just tried it and didn't figure it out though. I double clicked my opamp in capture and added a "Datasheet" = "C:\TEST\lm741.pdf" property. I also tried "DATASHEET_LINK". But after that I didn't see any easy way to view it in the right click menu? Does this require the CIS mode? Do I have to download a plugin or activate any particular TCL script? Thanks!
@tdrelectronics7663 жыл бұрын
@@CircuitAnalysis Oh i forgot a link to the tcl app is inside the pdf and the fact it doesnt open in the pdf is probably because you have protection mode on the pdf explains how to disable it as well

Option for Bare traces design in orcad
@CircuitAnalysis5 ай бұрын
I think bare traces is more about the manufacturer than the design in OrCAD. If you ask the MFG for bare copper then it's cheaper and they'll just ignore the silkscreens and stuff.

How to add library in 17.4 (2021patch) ?
@IchampiONpro3 жыл бұрын
And is there library editor like in 17.2 ?
@CircuitAnalysis3 жыл бұрын
17.4 is the same as 17.2 just with some prettier icons and themes. To add a library you do the same thing, press "p" to place part and then you get the panel on the right with libraries. Then you click the "+" button to add a library and use the open file dialog to select the library file to add. Is that what you were asking?
@CircuitAnalysis3 жыл бұрын
I see two programs in my directory: "Allegro Library Creator 17.4" and "Library Explorer 17.4" but I have not used them and my license does not seem to support either. Are either of those what you meant by library editor?

Libs are pre installed, user created or what ?????????????????
@CircuitAnalysis2 жыл бұрын
There are a bunch of pre-installed libs. That's what I was using for this, but you can make your own too.

You can get a better pdf by going to file export pdf this gives you an intelligent pdf with a sidebar listing all the pages components and nets and you click on one of these and it takes you to that object in the pdf all you require is ghostscript which is a free program
@CircuitAnalysis3 жыл бұрын
Awesome, yeah I tried this feature and got the error that gostscript was not installed and gave up, but I'll have to give it a try now if it's better. It does say you can just download it at ghostscript.com/download
@tdrelectronics7663 жыл бұрын
@@CircuitAnalysis Just download it and remember where you installed it as it is required when you use the pdf export once you have it you can then click on a component and get all the properties against that component or net
