Not to burst your bubble, but you make it sound like orchestra members are failed soloists, which couldn’t be farther from the truth. Musicians auditioning for orchestras consciously go into the profession, and getting to the point of even qualifying to audition, they would‘ve had to have already proven their virtuosity through pieces like this (or through even harder ones)

This is the most difficult cadenza in the entire violin repertoire. But he played it flawlessly, gracefully, and with feeling! WOW, he’s absolutely incredible! He was only 14 years old when this video was recorded. When I was 14, I was barely working my way through the 1st Suzuki violin book.

Solid technique and gorgeous intonation. I think Teo already understands that clear sound enables the listeners to hear and savor every note. So many of the kids play at full speed and get encouraged as if speed is a virtue....which it is and is often enjoyed by the performer...but often with the loss of the listeners attention. Another player for the people.😊

You should listen to Kavakos’ performance of the Sauret cadenza. In my opinion, this isn’t in-line with the style of Paganini.
