You don't have to be playing paganini concertos at the age of 7 to enjoy violin and so many people forget that (including myself, who's also not a prodigy)! Coming from someone who's been playing violin for almost eight years now, your commitment is admirable! It takes a lot of dedication to continue something for a long time

This was really nice to see. I started playing when I was ten and it’s been five years since. I’ve always been above average in how quickly I progress, but never anything crazy, while my teacher has students much younger than me that’ve progressed so quickly they’ve surpassed me in half the time. I’ve started to grow more confident in my playing but just now after all my spring concerts I’ve felt very discouraged and like I’m so far behind. You’re playing feels a bit similar to my own, and I’m glad to see a different great violinist other than the usual five year old ones in my recommended!

Great to finally see a non-prodigy video! You are doing good. One needs to keep in mind that being on stage means you show much less than you are able to play at home. Keep it going! Nice to have a reference of real life. Playing 12 years now but with a huge break in between. Would rate myself a bit below your playing.

I don´t know why, but i’m just really happy to see this video, to see someone who is not perfect, but wants to be… well, at real, nobody is perfect and if you someday want to be it, you’ll never. Keep going, be happy with this beautiful instrument, its unique, and i hope you grow so much one day that you’ll be proud of yourself❤ (sorry for the bad english😅)

Though I am a pianist, I thought this was impressive. I started late at thirteen so I see similarities between my story and this story. Also I like the Choice of Bach. Bach, Beethoven, and Scriabin are my favorites. Prokofiev too for his piano concerto op 16. Good job!!

As someone who played as a kid and soft retired (forced so not a sad moment) I found church music to generally be easier than the Suzuki stuff and prolly worth trying now. Most churches I've seen want the congregation singing and so pick easier pieces for people to sing, which usually translates into pieces that don't have huge pitch changes, aren't super fast, etc. On top of the obvious Christmas stuff like the first noel, I'd recommend Ave Maria as an early goal (found it got played very often in small/special masses like weddings or funerals) and meditation as a long term goal (may be short, not sure where you stand right now) Good Luck!
