It's great to hear someone positive about new GW sculpts even if you do still sound like a grumpy old man 🤣. Play & display is a great idea! I like the introduction of the talking head on the montages. Hope you're feeling better soon!

As somebody who just got into the hobby October 2022 with the old command squad I really do wish I was able to get more of the classic cadians as I chose them specifically for the fact they were more customizable than any other army with just what the box included, but all I managed to get was the command squad, start collecting box, heavy weapons team, and two leman russes unless you count the scions. The new cadians being monopose made me struggle to get them in poses I liked, even when I did there was just something about the classic ones that looked so much better and I believe it's due to the customized nature of them, how everything down to how far the waist was twisted was up to me. Now with the price increase bringing an infantry squad to $50, im not so sure if I'm gonna be able to simply get more in the first place! The guard community has been asking for new sculpts for ages, but I don't think this is what any of us meant. I love how detailed they are, but given the choice between the two I'm just gonna be asking the local gw store manager if they've got any classic cadians in stock. Though I will bring up some positives: I love the inclusion of female head options for the cadians in the new kits, though it appears you have to get an upgrade sprue for a female medic I also love how in the upgrade sprue there's more wounded Cadian bits

Thank you for your comment ☺️, aww man I wish you had more time to collect the classic boxes. I’ve still seen some lurking in independent stores so that could be an option for you. I’m gonna be looking into ways of kitbashing and reposing the new sculpes this year and I’m sure I can bring that video forward a few months 👍. And the only advice I can give again for the price is check out your local independent store as they do reduce the price abit. Happy hunting, Cadia STANDS! 😉

Cool comparison. I hope you recover quickly and completely. With any luck my FLGS will have a copy of Cadia Stands for me to pick up later today. The new Cadian sculpts remind me of GI Joe figures. The older sculpts have a more Starship Troopers vibe. The new troopers will fit into my 501st Amalgamated Regiment just fine. "I'm doing my part!"

Ah but Starship troopers is why I got the first cadians 😅but that’s definitely a cool direction to take the cadians in with the 501st I take it you have a few Valkyries cutting about your force?

The instructions might make it seem that its very monopose, but apart from having to build the bodies in a certain way, you can add any arms to them.

Magnetizing worked great. Hope you feel better soon. Also Penal legion, conscripts and veteran guardsmen are no longer in the codex. It's all just infantry squads which makes things easier.
