This is often the first Lovebites song reactors hear. Keep going with them, there are no weak songs. The Lovebites vs. Babymetal question doesn't really work--they are two completely different concepts. I personally prefer the simplicity of Lovebites--just five extraordinary musicians who can do it all without a lot of production behind them.

Yeah, you can't compare Lovebites to BabyMetal or DragonForce, but these reactors keep trying to do it anyway, because they don't know any better. 😑

@@TheCyberMantis Comparing them to Dragon Force is appropriate, both are highly technically proficient and fast Power Metal Bands. The BabyMetal comparisons not so much, they are Kawaii Metal, which combines J Pop, with Metal. But you can contrast them to Aldious, which had been around for nearly 10 years before Lovebites, plays the same Power Metal (and a dozen other genres) both all female, both have guitarists that play piano, etc. Differences are Aldious doesn't do long solos, so they have more commercial popular appeal, Aldious songs are filled with one great hook after another.

@@TheCyberMantis They formed in 2008, with Rami and Yoshi. Yes Toki just had her second. When Re:No left and they were on hiatus Toki got married and had a baby. There were rumors that she wouldn't comeback, (like Aruto did before and Marina replaced her) but she did, and just recently had her second.

@@gerardcote8391 I'll echo this. They are stylistically quite similar to DragonForce, and it's a very fair comparison. Similarities to Babymetal are aesthetic only (Japanese, all-female, clean vocals). Babymetal really tries to take J-pop and make it metal (successfully imho), whereas Lovebites sits in the more establishment power metal genre, with a lot of focus on extreme technicality like DragonForce. Nemophila (mentioned in video) is yet a different beast, which aims more at Metalcore with Japanese influence.

BABYMETAL managed to attract a lot of attention to the sluggish metal scene. However, they are a peculiar existence created from a project called "Fusion of Idol and Heavy Metal" in a variety show, and cannot be said to represent J-METAL. LOVEBITES is without a doubt one of the representative female metal bands in Japan today.

It's been 4 score and 7yrs since I saw a band as talented as Lovebites (my subjective opinion). It will be real interesting to see where they go with Fami (new bassist). My heart hopes they go more thrash because their thrash metal is next level but will wait and see...I am just excited for them to do new music and will support whatever they do, and you're absolutely right, they are unbelievably talented...out of this world talent (in my opinion). Recommend you try Set The World On Fire live to see their thrashy side. 🤘🐺

Yeah, you can't compare Lovebites to the other bands you mentioned, it is out of the question some are ok and some maybe and others just don't have it. Lovebites rule the rock/metal scene and it's still a crying shame that many here in this ignorant country can't accept the fact just how amazing they are and 100% better than many male bands out there

For me, I got Lovebites, Wagakki Band, Symphony X, and Dream Theater. Those are my top bands. WGB has been around a little longer than LB, but DT and SyX have been around for 25 to 30 years. LB has been around 6 years now. So they have a long road ahead of them. Will LB be the next Iron Maiden or Symphony X? I hope so! They have the talent and the skills to make it happen. But they must do 2 things: stand the test of time, and tour the world.
