I really appreciate the calm, straightforward and to the point explanation. No unnecessary comments. Question a dealership about it and their explanation, most generally, is like rebuilding the Mars Rover and quite expensive to have it done. You might even have to leave the fob with the dealership for 3-4 days 😒

Good video. Couldn't be clearer. I did this once before. Grand daughter has a 2010 SRX and told me to take her to Autozone. She said she needed a new battery for her keyfob. I said they sell those batteries everywhere, why go to AZ. She insisted I go to AZ so I took her to AZ. She came out of AZ and said they had replaced her battery once before with much difficulty and it took three guys to do it. So this time they refused to try as they should have. Then she had me take her to Advance auto and they also refused to help her as they should have. So, I got on you tube and saw how easy it was once you knew how to do it and so I replaced her battery and it worked. Now I am doing it again. This time she dropped it in a cup of water. I checked you tube again since it had been a while since I did it before. I got it open and the battery was still wet. So, I took the circuit board out to make sure it dried out and I am getting ready to replace the battery. I came across your video and I liked the clear instructions. Also, the other video used the key to open the plastic housing and I did that but it looks to me that the screwdriver is a good idea. So here's hoping.

No don't use a screwdriver. Use your key that's in the key fob there's a slot right above where the key goes you just put the key in there turn the key and it pops it open. It also shows how to do it in the owner's manual. If you do it that way with a screwdriver there's a possibility of messing up the seams on the key fob or.

How important are the first two letters of the battery? Mine says DL2032 and your using CR2032.

I found the DL2032 so nvmd. Twice the cost though. Thank you for the video. Saved me bunched from going to the car dealer!!

Those DLs will work perfectly. Duracells are the same battery as the CL but they wanted to add their initials ;)
