The factory warranty is finally up, so it's time for the first Cadillac ELR oil change at home. It's a pretty simple job that applies to both Cadillac ELRs as well as Chevrolet Volts since they share the same basic drivetrain.

Thank you...so much easier to use a bag instead of smelling oil burning off after you're finished.

Just extend the length of the ramps by adding some 2x4s. I have virtually the same ramps and I think my 2x4s are about 18" in length. Take your time going up and down and you shouldn't have any problems.

I'll do that next time...can't believe that didn't occur to me!

Nice. Have you done a spark plug change video?
@pinkcaddygarage2672 жыл бұрын
I haven’t. Since I made that video we bought a farm so I literally ended up selling my ELR and buying a farm tractor in it’s place. No real comparison between the two, by the way!

You wouldn't happen to know where the ECU (computer) is located on the ELR would you? Nobody seems to know exactly where it is (not even Google). Either way, thank you for this video.

I’m sorry, I don’t. I never had to access the ECU. But, if you can determine where it is located on the Chevrolet volt, that would be a good place to start since they both use the same platform.

@pinkcaddygarage2672 жыл бұрын
I go by the oil life monitor in driver information center. Way longer than every 90 days.
