Next time try going a little north to Fort Lauderdale the vibe is a little more relaxing I personally prefer it and live in South Florida. Also Margrita Ville in Hollywood is pretty cool as well!

This Halloween, we're staying at the Conrad in Las Vegas for $250 a night with the Platinum Promo, followed by a free night at the Waldof Astoria with the Hilton Aspired. We live 3 hours from Vegas, so decided to fly out to Myrtle Beach for 5 nights beforehand.

So earlier this year, I used my gold card to book the 21c in Cincinnati for a weekend. I did get a free room upgrade and a $100 credit. I used the credit for valet parking and a couple beers at the hotel restaurant. Value felt pretty good.

Airbnb can be expensive, too, but once you pay the owner you know there won't be more unknown fees coming later --- hotels don't seem to care if they sort of fool you about the true costs of staying with them, but it's sort of short-sighted thinking, because that feeling of the hotel doing a bunch of "gotcha" fees is one of the reasons I usually choose vacation rentals over hotels.

@@ProudMoney I feel like they're 50/50 for me in terms of overall price. Maybe because cities are cracking down on Air BnB with taxes a lot more these days. We prefer Air BnB for much longer stays but for shorter stays, I value more of the amenities and convenience that hotels have. It's just more consistent for me.

I am thinking about SB in June. I am looking at a Marriot property Royal Palm. Sorta between the lines it states no cancelation etc etc. Is that pretty much normal for SB hotels? Being I'm booking in June and it's not Feb. yet I might need to add or remove dates etc.

Not sure really. I purposely went through Amex because I wanted to try their Hotel Collection offers. It is a Marriott property, though, so possibly a transfer of points into Marriott would make sense.

Did you say you where at a Hyatt hotel, so is that part of the American Express collection? Just joking, think heard a high end hotel. Also being that type of hotel do you have to drive in with a Cadillac automobile?
