With the loss of the Cadets, we're also losing the iconic Rocky Point Holiday. Hope another corps picks it up to keep the spirit alive (likely Boston since Gino went there). Heart goes out to the members.

@@deekwilliams3255The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps will no longer continue as a youth arts program in DCI. Their name is also not allowed to be taken up unless all issues that came from previous Cadets programs are paid for and addressed, all but making it impossible to take up the mantle again.

Even though the Cadets were rivals to everyone else, it doesn’t matter. They were still musicians at the end of the day, and there’s nothing but community in the drum corps circle. Even if you never marched in one (like me).

This is what drum and bugle corps have done since the late 60s St.patrons growing the ranks of the BRASSMEN to Fantasia lll and Bridgemen members becoming CADETS we welcome with arms wide open. Riversider members became Polish Falcons members and Warriors ,NY Vanguard and NY Lancers... from programs ending Warriors and NY Lancers became members of the Cadets of Bergen County, corps camaraderie or corps cousins, the love must continue ❤
