John If you go out on the street and ask people to name 3 Lincoln models and 3 Cadillac models , on the Cadillac they will never get past Escalade, that’s the problem

problem with luxury brands is they are so behind in tecknology, once you have heard of tesla test drive, experianced one you dont anything else when tesla m 3 starts getting exposure all legacy auto will have to change from manufacturing to sales service customer experiance . Adapt change or co extinct

Train engines are diesels work as generators that run an electric motor at the wheel. The diesel hybrid that uses this system would get outstanding mileage. With the diesel as a electric generator there isn'y any need for a drivetrain since you using the electric motors as all EVs do. Make sure the battery pack is large enough for the daily commute and use the diesel for long trips. The diesel could be a small two cylinder design that only needs to make on the order of 7500 watts.

The only Volvos I see on the road are the XC60. Which is of course a lot lower price. I do not see Volvo as a premium luxury brand and would never pay 90,000 dollars for a Volvo.

I would love to have a large Diesel SUV or a Ford Raptor Diesel. Other than that most gas cars have just become too efficient. Most gas Suvs are still stuck in a 20 mpg max that has been there for the last 15 years.

Cadillac needs to get away from trying to be a Mercedes/Audi/BMW competitor and market the CT6 from an American view like Lincoln (and Chrysler)does with its products.A big car like the CT6 was made for America and should be call the Fleetwood.

Certainly real names and some softer models. Cadillac is erring too far on performance which is fine for some CTS model and the ATS line.

Fleetwood is an awful name. As someone who loves Cadillac I would never buy a car named that. Continental is a GREAT name. Fleetwood is not. I do agree that the CT6 needs better marketing and a great name but most people are buying the Escalade over the CT6 anyways.
@Lovejazz01
@Lovejazz01 7 жыл бұрын
SECK I beg to differ, I'm 55 and I remember when the name Fleetwood represented the best Cadillac, when you had a Fleetwood Brougham you had the top of the line Cadillac, the CT6 is the top of the line(unless you consider the Escalade the top of the line) , maybe the Escala is a better name, but they shouldn't use it unless they have the guts to produce the show car, I'm sure Caddy is thinking about it's younger buyers, but it's younger buyers are into the XT5 ...
@Frost517
@Frost517 7 жыл бұрын
You may remember the F.B. but all that awful name means to me being 24 years old is a rusted out beater left over from the early 90s recession that didnt even sell then. Fleetwood evokes mass market - fleet and cheaply made - wood in my opinion. Im no authority and you can love the name all you want, but as a young American I would never buy a Cadillac in 2017 named that awful name.

I actually saw a Volvo C30 on the road a couple days ago and thought it looked very nice at night and loved the price point. Without a C30 SUV or sedan there is zero entry point into the Volvo brand... Maybe they want it that way but it is hurting them. Lincoln botching the MKZ is also hurting Lincoln. The Germans have tons of entry points into their brands and do well. Cadillac only has the ATS which even I a hard core Cadillac fan think is ugly and has a tortured design from the rear 3/4ths view. I would say this is a theme. Brands that lack a good entry vehicle are going to struggle more than those that offer great ones and multiple ones.

What is interesting is that Toyota had 4 wheel steering in their MegaCruiser SUV but the tech never went anywhere and they only sold those trucks in Japan. A few made it to other parts of Asia and even Europe but they were either military/government sales or grey market imports. With the narrow streets here in Japan, many of the large transport trucks have 4 wheels steering for the front 2 axles.

Why are less people taking public mass transit? Have they considered that more people are doing more than just web cruising? Think about it Malls are dying because of the web - you not only don't need a car - it makes no sense to pay a fare and put up with bad weather when you can do shopping from. You don't need to go to a movie because the web is doing entertaining. Even getting groceries doesn't require a store visit.

I'm not buying another new Cadillac until they bring the Brougham back and they get more realistic with the prices. When I saw a new Cadillac was almost $85,000 (CT6, fully loaded), I just couldn't see how it could be justified.... I could get 2 lower class Mercedes Benz's for that price and still be better off. My 1987 Brougham d'Elegance turns more heads and has a more luxurious ride than any new Cadillac on the road, today. People stop to take photos of my triple blue grace. I updated the technology in the Cadillac and she has hands-free calling, rear view camera, SiriusXM, and more. The only thing you can't do in the car is watch movies, but she wasn't made for that, and that's fine with me. The last Cadillac I bought was a 1998 DeVille and omg... what a disaster that was... engine failure and come to find out the head bolts were the issue and it would cost over $3,500 to repair. I parked it and bought a brand-new Silverado crew cab LT for $30,000 (2008) and never looked back. I think Cadillac needs to make a mix of sporty and luxurious cars... and that's just for starters...

The Impala is an Excellent car. The problem is it is too masculine. Most husbands are losing that fight with their wives that want a Camry or Accord. Single guys tend to go down the 300, Charger path for sedans. The Impala drives and rides better than any modern Acura sedan.

Toyota and lexus needs a new design chief. The current design chief is the biggest fool in the universe after making toyota and lexus unattractive with his bogus design. Infact he should resign honourably or be fired. As for acura, consumers must be convinced that it is different and better than a honda and it must abandon its front wheel base for a rear wheel base as a luxury marque. The problem with cadillac and other american brands is that they are always in a hurry to bring their products to the market without proper test. They should also hire the best hands from anywhere in the world.

Am amazed women talked about Tesla cars will be comming for service, No there is nothing to service. So 500k+ don’t need service, just tires or small things. Yes there is issues with cars now but with time they would be mostly solved. Tesla Business Model is the future, From manufacturing to sales & service. Most cases Service Guy come to your place, only for big issues needing to go to service centers. I have F-150 Platinum but this is my last iCE vehicle, Only full Electric ⚡️ ⚡️ next time. Love the Rivian Truck, lets see what Tesla comming with.

I get 25mpg average with my RAM ecodiesel crew cab vrs 15mpg average with my active fuel management GAS Sierra crew cab... You do the math .. More than 50% better fuel economy and FUEL SAVINGS.. Burn less fuel =better for environment and SAVE natural resources . REALITY : Oil companies lose cash when diesels exist (50% better fuel economy) , so oil lobbyists pay off Washington to pass bills that kill Diesels by making them impossible to pass new and unfair emission stds. These same lobbyists pay for , and produce anti-diesel propaganda , making them out to be dangerous , smelly , loud and harder to maintain... None true of modern diesels. FACT: Semi-trucks use diesel engines , so do farm tractors and heavy equipment... WHY ? MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO PRODUCE POWER is DIESEL ! NOT GAS ! Follow the money ,, find your answers....

And they keep making them uglier and uglier. Those gaping holes in the front with black grills. No doubt it saves them money,I just bought a RAV4 Hybrid. I saw pictures on You Tube for the 2019 redesign and it looks like a Tacoma P/U in the front. Granted the RAV4 front ain't all that pretty but If I wanted to buy a p/u I would buy a p/u. And the 2019 is to angular for me, it looks disjointed but a lot of people will love it. just not me.

The feasibility of diesel powered cars has always been questionable. Manufacturers not being above board hasn't helped. The future shows increased EV sales. But don't fret, trucks, RV's, buses, and all heavy vehicles will be powered by diesels for a long time yet.
