This is amazing - is CAT offering this service for end users also? to operate equipment for end users at mine sites etc?

The garage truck first step into the cab needs to be deeper towards the front of the truck. The way it’s designed you’re stepping in with the wrong foot first. If the residential can are to close to each other those grippers are going to know them over.

California's mutual aid between regions would require fire engines to be self-deployable. The state requested and is getting resources from Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. How would an electric fire truck fit into this scenario? PS - some news stories mentioned Tesla cars had to be abandoned due to heat from fires impacting batteries. Can you check if this is true?

What happens with an electric garbage truck when the garbage is on fire from a battery some yahoo threw in the trash. Will the batteries powering the truck go into thermal runaway or is there extra fire protection?

Tell the fire authorities in Cali that all the help from out of town jurisdictions didn't have to travel far to help fight the recent fires. Good luck with that.

George knows the game of startups well. You dont want 1 customer that is 99% of your revenue who then bullies you to do what they want which could ultimately be incorrect. Its far better to think long term and not allow that situation to form. Everyone who has been a founder will have a story of the S&P500 company that wasted hundreds of hours only to not more forward and the startup runs out of runway because it focused on what that company wanted.

It's about time we start to see fully electric vehicles in these fleets. There is absolutely no reason not to electrify ALL vehicles that have daily routes less than two hundred miles. Too many giant fires and giant floods are telling us, it's time to get this done.

Nothing against OshKosh, but we need to go a different way w/ that mail truck. Ignoring the super stupid look front end, this program is way too expensive. Makes sense to go EV mail wherever feasible, using gas where necessary. But not some grossly bloated program like this one.

The garbage trucks need a container for toxic electric car fire clean-up.
@HonestJohn-y3k6 сағат бұрын
But remember, there is nothing in any electric car that is half as toxic as GASOLINE. Gasoline vapors contain a half dozen extremely toxic chemicals, and two major carcinogens (benzene and toluene). And these same chemicals are contained in the exhaust. Any gasoline or diesel engine that is not equipped with a fully functional catalytic converter is producing extremely toxic exhaust. Likewise, of the many thousands of sites for extraction, refining or storing petroleum products, a large proportion are hazardous waste sites. Vastly more hazardous than lithium extraction.

@thabzmad7265Сағат бұрын
@@uludak8468 Glad you feel that way, but they have had mainstream EV for over 5 years in recent times. 2020 they were selling the Honda-e. Since 2024 the Honda e:NY1 has been for sale in some markets and for Japan, NVanE. China has at least 2 more imminent production of the "Ye" series. The nice thing about them is they rather take time to brew a well made product for the mass market instead of churning out an EV for the sake of it.
