Dude! Thank you very much! I repaired my car with 20% of a $140 bottle of fluid. lol Was just low in my case, but I did a Flush as best I could Using a small hand pump to siphon and fill. With this video gave me all the information I needed thank you!

Excellent video and very helpful. Prior to changing the clutch pump I took the cover off the opposite side and replaced the gasket and filter then put new oil in.💰💰💰. Hoping it was perhaps low on oil but the Service Rear Axle light still came on. I purchased a new one and proceeded to change the pump and top off the oil. I was able to take the 2 pins out of the new connector and use the original pins from the difficult to get at harness. (I made a little pin tool and it worked slick as heck) Thanks for the heads up. It appears to be working and the light hasn’t came on yet . 🤞

Use Redline MT-LV 70w/75w. It’s much cheaper at $23 a qt. This covers all Haldex oils. A drain and fill takes like .59 of a qt so even for a pump replacement one qt should be sufficient. I recommend picking up two just in case. You’ll have piece of mind and extra for your next drain and fill. Just be careful on newer years. The Chevy, non Haldex, awd clutch systems use a different fluid. It’s actually an electric hydraulic power steering fluid. It calls for Pentosin CHF 11S power steering fluid. Some equivalents cover this but the Pentosin is about $26 a qt.

Thanks for sharing, having alternative fluid woud be awesome. I checked this fluid specs and it does not mention GM part number, it just said Haldex coupling: GM 10-4037 GM 19259104 GM 19259105 Haldex Coupling AWD Systems Also when I called local seller for Redline they couldn't cross reference.
@alexandergunaka6667 күн бұрын
It’s in alphabetical order. It just happens to be next to GM. It is saying it covers the fluid for all Haldex Coupling Units. This one you show is a Haldex so it would be covered. They won’t be able to cross reference as there were many single manufacturer fluids for Haldex like the gm number. They did not list it. They encompassed all fluids used by Haldex.

Thank you for the video! I plan to tackle this job as well since GM quoted me $1500 for a pump Replacement, that didn’t include a new filter or seal. My question is have you had good luck with the Dorman pump versus OEM? Have you always used Dorman products when available? Any issues with them? I would hate to go through all this and have the Dorman pump fail or not work correctly. Dorman pump is $200 found OEM GM one for $382. Looking forward to your input, thanks again for the great video!

You're very welcome! I have never had a problem with Dorman parts. This pump was installed a few months ago and still works as it supposed to. Please let me know how it goes.

Do you know if the MX808S-TS diagnostic tool is capable of reading issues with the transfer case solenoid valve DTC C0402 61?

I notice \ sense zero issues with how the vehicle drives yet I get this error from time to time. My mechanic said I shouldn't change the axle fluid since it will only cause troubles and I should leave it be. What`s your take on this?
@justdoityourself8 ай бұрын
Sounds a bit ridiculous. Having the issues you described, I would make sure your clutch fluid level is good as well as diff fluid level. Changing fluid will not have any negative impact.

@@justdoityourselfso what kind of clutch fluid do I need because I just replaced the pump and I do still hear a slight noise but I'm noticing a stiffness when I turn in the back wheels somewhat

I also had that same notice on my dash. My differential oil was leaking so I had to replace clutch pump and something else but notice still comes on. I didn't know that differential oil and differential clutch pump oil were different and I can't find it by just looking it up

Check my other comment for fluid specs. If your clutch has a filter the fluid change is recommended every 20k and every 10k if it has no filter.

I do have this problem, rear wheels not driving, and just started to work on it. Had measured motor's resistance and it reads: 2 ohms. Not sure if it is still good or not?

It is probably too late now for this. I struggle with it too but found easy way to do it. At the back of that plug is "L" shaped boot (or sleeve) which is made of plastic in the form of live hinge, so it can be split open and removed like clam shell. Without it it is easy to plug in. Afterwards I even managed to put that boot back were it was.

@makfive343 that's great find! Thanks for sharing!
Cadillac needs to get sued for the way they ran that cable and/or do a recall and free replacement. I’ve worked on cars and in industry long enough to know that wasn’t the only way or the best way it could have been done. Isn’t it interesting how that just happens to be the part that fails on these? Btw, the pump I ordered on Amazon had a different shaped plug to the differential. Didn’t work. I used one from a junk yard (cut the wires). Still need to clear the code though + I didn’t top off the oil.
@justdoityourself2 ай бұрын
Lol. With GM, it is difficult to find the part with wires that does not fail.
