Hi again, Thought I would add a little more info to this post to save a lot of grief on removing the actuator without snapping off the oil shaft. Just loosen the 4 retaining bolts about 1/8 of an inch then with a flat blade wood chisel {harbor freight $8.00} knock the actuator loose then remove. This way you will not snap the oil shaft. To keep the debris from contaminating into the engine just scrape the gasket material off while using your dry vac. Hope this helps.

i have oil leaking from the top one is it easy to pull out just take out the screws and replace seal ?thanks

I've got this exact model year and color XLR but my interior is black. My x ran over the front fender with our Hummer so I upgraded the front to an 09 V series including the hood, added 20s and just made it an absolute beauty. Fun cars but they suck to work on. My radiator was recalled and they installed a v series radiator.....guess what...it cracked too. Double check your headlights and make sure you put resistors in. Some 05s still had the headlight melting situation.

My 2005 silver xlr had the exact same problem, from the cooling fan, radiator and even the VVT was broken in the exact same spot lower left. To be honest I may have broke it removing the oil leaking actuator. The dealership wanted $3500 to fix the VVT, got it done at a local engine shop for $195. I'm curious on how much you paid for the XLR? Mine had many problems: folding top inoperable, suspension module had water damage , RCDLR broken, missing the NAV disk, plus the previously mentioned problems.

How did you know your suspension module had water damage? What did it cost to fix?

How is the build coming along? I have one myself 07 XLR base model. Parts for these things are way to expensive and hard to find. Good luck with the build.

Y3N9VAN9 08 the car is back together and 100% again. It only cost about $6500 to get it there... we got burnt on this one at the auction and just paid way too much for it. I'm in this one just shy of $15k all said and done. Paid $8600 for it. I just bought a red one with 54,000 original miles on it for $11,600 that is mint in comparison.

If you still didn’t figure out the seat thing there’s a button down under your left leg there’s 3 buttons set your seat where ever you want it then hold the one or the 2 depending which key fob you want to use to register with that position I have a red 2005
